RE: Electric Postie Bike... I've been working on a design for an electric postie bike for the past 5 years. I even became a Postie - to fully appreciate the job and requirements of the bikes. Almost finished my proof of concept prototype - and have engaged proffesional motorcycle design engineers to...

Body is fibreglass, I made it - took a while! More than a week solid just to make the blanks (moulds). A sh*tload of sanding, and prep prior to painting. All up I reckon 3 weeks just for the panels.

...bed angles are reasonably simple - but you'd need to make a jig - or be content for the sake of the model to use the angled joining sections. I had the curve sections drawn on paper at full scale, pasted that to a sheet of ply, and used a series of wooden choks stuck to that, defining the curve, ...

8mm stainless rod - over 600mm will flex about 3mm max. when pulled at one point at the centre of the rod. If the batteries were to move upward as a group (which they would in the event of a large bump or rollover) the rod flexes less than 1mm. Box is made of 3mm Aluminium, and has a couple of mm to...

...rather than use a drill 'rig', would you consider cutting the joins with a grinder - the ol' fashioned way... can be done very neatly. Before making my frame, i made a full scale PVC pipe model hot glued. Was a good exercise (and cheap), it forced me to make jigs and practice cutting joins etc. v...

...say at 100MPH, would you want to attempt to take a corner with a rigid trike?? Body won't be doing it's own thing, it would not want to drop you on the pavement or do crazy unexpected things. When you give it power it would want to bring you upright again - same as a two wheeled motorbike. ...in ...
