Re: another new battery tech for 2019

yeah we can dream. I just came back to the forum , i used to be active in 2009 - 2010 but didnt build one due to the battery tech being imperfect on price and quality issues with China (Thundersky LiPo). I have spent about 5 hours catching up on forum posts today about battery tech , trying to work ...

another new battery tech for 2019

I know we all want them yesterday but at least its projected to be only 1 - 2 years away.

3x - 10x charge density and fast charging , from the guy who developed Li-Ion .

If only we could make them at home :D

250 kW Wave Generator

Not likely to be within the reach of us mere mortals unless you want to steal the 340 kW Servo motor for your hybrid / EV truck. Their website says they spent $ 10 million on two sets of these. Re: 54v super cap detail

I have no idea what these price up like in comparison to your miracle $110,000 ones above , however watching interviews with their CEO are a bit more credible. He doesnt claim these as a battery replacement but as a complementary system to work with Lithium XX batteries to extend life and improve ef...

i think i warned you about this when you first posted pics of the motor frame a couple of years ago ?

your aluminium motor mounting frame is not rigid

if you try to connect two motors without a flexible coupling you will break shafts.

end of sermon . nothing more to discuss

List of conversion workshops in Australia

Borg-Warner probably won't sell you the gearbox, but if you can get one I can't see why you couldn't put an induction motor on it and run it with our controller. Would be a nice system. yeah the only limit is the frame size (clearance diameter) for the motor to clear the gearbox housing on the othe...

speaking of australian made packages , what happened to Ultramotive and their three motors ?

are they being used anywhere , can they be purchased by professional EV builders ?

why is this tech not being fast tracked to commercial production ?

that $ 1 / m price is a bit more " trade "

$ 14 per meter on ' that other place ' is a bit on the high side

i would be surprised if 40 mm orange is more than $ 2.30 /m

Can I suggest that these staples are great quick and dirty way to connect tabbed cells for testing on the workbench, but definitely NOT what you want in a pack for an electric vehicle. These jobbies were designed to hold a wad of paper together in an office environment, not conduct up to 600A of cu...

Yeah that is where Jack Rickard got some recent test cells from. He regards the cells as most likely genuine. Much better deal than the tab less ones I spotted on ebay. Now for someone to come up with cheap, easy and effective way to modualize them. Some assembly required! does anyone know the name...

given the choice of a 15 year old design in the Azure dynamics DMOC 445 for $ 5500 or a leading edge Tritium 200 kw controller for $ 6600 i dont think there is any argument

azure can kick itself in the bum and run all the way back to canada

The thermistor looks like the bottom leg of a voltage divider connected to the - input of an LM258 section. The + input goes to the 4.7v regulated supply. I'd say when the resistance drops far enough, the output of the 258 toggles and this wanders off to what is probably the current limit control. ...
