Welcome, Dzima. Thanks for titling and formatting your posts like our other PIP-XXXX topics. After it was left for one day with PV panels connected, and disconnected battery its start to show error 53 and error 08. So error 53 (fault code 53) is inverter soft start fail (as opposed to bus soft start...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters

i have a pip5049MS pf1 with the 64v Charging Option and a Pylontech us2000b. Presumably, that should read PIP-5048MS (64V). Which version can i use? Havent found the option for LiFePo4. The correct version for you is the LFP flavour of patched firmware version 72.20e , i.e. the file to download is ...

Re: AVASS cells 2nd lot

Why are people using SS bolts with the AVASS cells? Pretty much everyone uses stainless steel bolts. It's the best compromise with compatibility with the copper straps, availability, and so on. Yes, the conductivity of stainless steel is quite poor. But little current should be flowing through the ...

Re: i-MiEV not charging, high voltage warning light and battery

A couple of nits. You keep talking about the DC-DC converter, but the actual repair is of the charger (which is an AC to DC converter). There is a DC-DC converter in the same box, but it's underneath the charger in its own compartment. The parts to be replaced were described as resistors initially, ...

2020 Ioniq really is going to be released in Australia at the end of 2019? I have no idea. But remember that Australia is the backwater of electric vehicles. Just look at how far behind the latest model the Leaf you can buy in Australia is. And the Leaf is Japanese, so right hand drive like ours. K...

Any tips on getting the epoxy out safely? Some of them (by no means all), you have to bake them at a certain temperature and it runs off. Might be worth Googling. I believe that these are the hard ones, that feel like epoxy glue. If it's soft stuff that you can push around a bit with your finger, y...

my PIP 5048MK switches to mains operation from 50v. Although I can adjust 48V anyway, he will turn off the battery from 50V. In the PIP-5048MS models at least, the inverter switches from AC-passthrough mode to battery mode when either of: the battery voltage falls below the back-to-utility setting,...

Perhaps the AEVA should design up a thoughtful card to leave under these people's wiper blades. Re: Low Cost BMS for Home Storage Batteries

Is it possible to balance as the cells are charging? If you can predict the future, yes. It's easiest to base the balancing decision on instantaneous voltage when at the end of the charge cycle, when it's obvious which ones are too full. But if a BMS notes that a cell has far too much charge compar...

I understood that this 60A your are speaking about is not being pulled from the batteries at all, but there is a direct Solar -> Load. Only when the Solar is not sufficient for this 3kW, additional current is drawn from the batteries, correct? Yes, that's right. But as night falls, it's pretty much...

I have been running my 5048MG now for half a year batteryless, charging our Renault Zoe electric car fine. 'Granny' cable with either 10A or 13A is working great: when the power is not there (clouds or so), the PIP lowers the Voltage, and the car even kept on charging under 100V! Wow. I think you'r...

Alas, service manuals started getting hard to find about the same time as firmware update files, which was when the first clones started to appear. In my little collection of service manuals, I have nothing specific to any G series, and the only manual specific to 3 kVA models is from 2013.

Re: PIP-5048GE, PIP-5048GK and PIP-5048MG inverters (with unsafe SCC)

I note that if you were to use PIP-5048MKs instead of PIP-5048MGs, then in your 4 kW load scenario with 3 kW of PV power would in fact result in using 1 kW of utility power, IF the inverter was in line mode. In the PIP-5048MK, line mode is different from bypass mode. Bypass mode on both models conne...
