The inverter in my car is an MES-DEA TIM-600: How do you find this controller? We managed to blow up 3 of them (about 6 times in total with repairs). But we used a different brand motor... it only seems to blow up during auto-tune.... I hope your motor came pre-tuned and therefore you wont have the...

Richo's AC Handi Sports

There is no separate thread for my controller. I'll probably post some pics here soon. Yeh, please do. I'm currently deciding if I should use air cooled heatsink or liquid. Liquid I think is your best bet for Australian conditions (esp Perth). You'll save money on not having to massively oversize t...

So I'll scrape the rest together throw them all in a box and hook it to the motor.
That'll be my motor controller ~100kVA.

Got a thread or any information on this controller of yours Richo?

Here's a video of the motor/gearbox as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE4jnWB-N4g I seem to remember you were going to sell this motor? Is that still on the cards? Ah yes, its on the comments of that video " Volume pricing for the motor is still a work in progress (which is the goal). One off...

Nice work. EOI: Potential group buy for Siemens 1PV5135motors

Hi Stiive, I obviously missed the boat on the group buy. A pitty because I would have been keen. You mentioned you got 10. Does that mean you have a spare or two? Chris Yeh you did unfortunately. I personally got 2 motors, but I need them both for now. As I'm not doing a conversion however, these m...

My delivery from Lloyd Ash is in transit at Singapore. Just over a week left to go. Exciting! We're going to have a good community of Siemens motor owners here. I ended up importing 10 for the group buy. Please keep us informed on how you go getting the DMOC working. What else did you get? The borg...

I vote the grey motor! Light grey (Siemens) or dark grey (WEG)? All you need now is a fleet for cars to convert. Two of the siemens motor in one car perhaps http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley15.gif Haha, I wish. The two Siemens will be dyno'ing each other. Finally I have a free day today to p...

Which motor is the most powerful?

WOW! Just plugged up the Siemens motor today for the first time and spun her upto 10,000 RPM from my 100V lead acid pack. Damn she's got alot of inertia! Took ages to get up to speed because I had a 50A per phase current limit on, and took about 5min+ to slow back to stall. I thought something was w...

Which motor is the most powerful?

Blacky looks good then. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley4.gif Its main issue may be with cooling at those power levels. Although.. Indeed, although it won't be used in an EV.. by me atleast. I find that holding speed on a long 10 degree hill (minutes) still only uses 60% torque and 100% tor...

Which motor is the most powerful?

Just thinking... The PM motor torques are not available to max RPM ? I could well be wrong with your motor... have you the motor data ? You'd need the usual over voltage to follow the v/f up to max RPM. Max torque is available upto 4,500 RPM but I need 750V DC!!! The max RPM is 6,000. At 400VDC the...

Which motor is the most powerful?

Well, the one on the right looks like a 132 frame, so that could be rated from less than 7.5 to 22 kW. But the 15 and 22 kW motors in that size are unusual and expensive (ask Weber http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley1.gif ), so I'll go for 7.5 kW @ 50 Hz. Close. It's a Siemens 95kg aluminium 1...
