Stray Voltage

During a check of my ev today, using a voltmeter I detected that I was getting the pack voltage (120vdc)between the positive lead to the main contactor and the vehicle body. After much checking and searching I tracked the problem to a dash mounted digital LED voltmeter. This meter uses both 12vdc to...

AGM Battery Charging

Do I have a problem? When charging my vehicle, nearing the end of the charge cycle I have noticed that the voltage creaps up to and holds steady at 155volts, it is a 120vdc system. I have 10 x 12volt AGM's (85a/h) that is 15.5 volts per battery. It is my understanding it should be around 14.5 volts....

DC to AC Converter / Rectifer

Thanks for the input. A 12volt to 120vac inverter is the way to go. My initial thaught that the unit is a bit small, but checking out the sierra compressors at Masterflux, these units are the same size physically, unknown is the BTU rating. I could use two in parallel if necessary, compressors are 8...

DC to AC Converter / Rectifer

Question for the Ac guys. I wish to test a sealed compressor unit in my Proton conversion for airconditioning purposes. The sealed compressor unit is 115VAC (1/5hp - 150w) and my battery pack is 120VDC. Any suggestions on a converter / rectifer to run this unit, is there a shelf item available?

Weber
With reverse cycle airconditioning setups, the compressor remains operating in only one direction for cooling and heating, via re-plumbing the path of the gas, heating is achieved by reverseing the direction of the gas through the condenser and evaporator.

Battery Voltage

A question regarding battery voltage. At what point should you apply a reading to determine your battery voltage status, under acceleration load, cruise or standing after use?
