Name?

Thanks for the response 4springs. I must say that I am troubled by your reasoning. 1/ You say that naming the branch Hobart would not be inclusive, yet that Tasmanians are parochial. From this you then conclude that you should have a branch named the Tasmanian branch located only in Hobart. How is t...

Name?

Currently, each state and one territory (apart from Tasmania, of course) has exactly one AEVA branch, with their names being the name of the city they are located in.

This implied naming policy allows for more than one branch in any state or territory.

Name?

Hi Guys in Tassie, Congratulations on starting up a branch of AEVA - it’s about time! :-) As you can see, every one of branches of the organisation you wish to join is named after the city it is located in: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney. What will the name of the new branch ...

EV2Go, Weber has it about right. The problem is that AEVA and the forums are somewhat schizophrenic. On the one hand, AEVA has been around for more than 40 years, and for as long as I have known of it, it has had membership fees. (I don't have much knowledge about this, so maybe somebody else could ...

Currently, forums.aeva.net.au is a test.

Fixing the bugs may cause changes to the test forum.

N.B. This is completely independent from these forums that you are viewing right now.

The thing I have in my mind's eye when I think about non-public threads closely matches jonescg's: I think about the kinds of discussions that go into getting an event together. It's not knowledge about EVs, and it's transitory, and it might contain private information like contact details that you ...

mobile rendering on iOS 7/8 large font

I think a 'test' is in the process of being created, and that that is by no means a forgone conclusion.

As far as the software is concerned, it's phpBB, and you might want to have a look at it running on phpbb.com, e.g. here: https://www.phpbb.com/kb/3.0/ to see if it renders ok.

I-MiEV oops almost ran out

I have had my iMiEV for over 3 years now, and definitely had battery anxiety on occasion. The last one was before I even knew about turtle mode! I got the car home on zero bars and thought I'd see what happened when if I ran out, so I turned everything up and tried going up and down the driveway lot...

Regarding moving the software to another environment, I think you are overestimating the amount of work involved.

These people promise to do it for a couple of hundred bucks:

There is no proposal which would result in the deletion of the forum content. This has already been pointed out in this discussion. T...

For example, implementing membership restrictions would require moving the forums, but moving the forums themselves has nothing to do with membership restrictions (unless you see i...

EV Segment on the ABC's Checkout program

By the sounds of things, this is exactly the sort of article which should be openly available and on an electric vehicle site.. The Coal Powered Car article stated that a Tesla Roadster would produce 284g/km if charged in Victoria, which is about the same as an auto Commodore SS at 292g/km. It also ...

EV Segment on the ABC's Checkout program

The well-to-wheel costs are very rubbery. I have heard estimates from 10% to 100% extra pollution. These people http://www.greenvehicleguide.gov.au/GVGPublicUI/home.aspx include about 10%, I believe. You can use this page to search and include charging emissions: http://www.greenvehicleguide.gov.au/...

EV Segment on the ABC's Checkout program

Yes, if you buy an EV, you are most probably also buying/generating green power. The problem is that because this is not quantified, we can't make any claims about it, so we end up at the lowest common denominator, which is where we say this, but people don't believe us. Yes, charging at night when ...

EV Segment on the ABC's Checkout program

The ABC's Checkout program tomorrow night (4.4.13) will have a segment on EVs.

Basically, it's about their carbon footprint IF you happen to charge from non-green power.

They have a Tesla Roadster, a Mitsubishi iMiEV and a Volt.

My interest in this is that the iMiEV is mine.

I've added an FAQ page with the first 5 FAQs. Unfortunately, they are very out of date, so I stopped there.

Looking forward to Coulomb fixing it up.
