Dashboard Display Modules and Touchscreens
Well considering you don't have much actual experience I think people reading your posts should take your commentary with a large grain of salt. Relaying second hand information is quite different to experienced individuals providing good advice. This forum could use posts from a few more people wit...

Dashboard Display Modules and Touchscreens
This all sounds like a huge amount of overkill to me. I have been driving my AC powered EV for more than a year now, no need to examine individual cell voltages, temperatures, statistics. Just charge and drive. EV joy... I just want a bit of balance here so newbies don't think this is at all necessa...

Thundersky battries on there side?
Those grey cells have been on the CALB website for a year. In fact they were meant to be producing them as a more upmarket version but never got around to it. They just got too busy making the blue ones. CALB are now making a 70Ah cell to replace the old 60Ah, and also a 210Ah cell in the "wide" for...

So making sure there is some crumple zone between the battery and the skin of the car/bike. Good point, batteries are the fuel tank of an EV. Car companies these days ensure their fuel tanks are well inside the crumple zones. LiFePO4 batteries will burn if ignited or shorted. Someone will find this...

Hi Thomas,
It goes without question that 2C for 2 mins is no problem for a TS (now WB) 100Ah pack. It would be a walk in the park.
Many of us use considerably higher C ratings than this.

Using an EV to power things.
Hi Jem, You are just not going to be able to do it easily as far as I know. Using up to up to 100 cells or so you can plug in power tools that have universal type motors. But over that you will start blowing things - and yourself - up. You cannot tap a portion of the pack either or it becomes unbala...

Hi Peter, I don't know that you would call it a "variation". I have been running TS cells on edge for a year now with no problem at all. TS standard cells can be mounted on their edge or flat but if there is any fault in the system that causes the cell to vent it will vent juice instead of vapour. T...

Glossing over this does not detract from the fact that you in particular do not support Australian suppliers, quite the reverse. You are putting yourself up as a bit of a celebrity on this forum by going for the postage record. However you have not completed an EV conversion of your own or even test...

It seems to be a common comment on this forum that suppliers should provide prices on their website. Why? Perhaps it is a good thing if potential customers make contact with a supplier rather than just shop around for absolutely the lowest price purely on face value. We don't bite. As far as I am co...

Are you commenting on Australian businesses in general or me in particular? I don't recall ever getting an inquiry from an Anthony Wood. I don't charge $20 per cell for BMS. Once again I don't recall ever being asked to quote for you. I would have to question the safety and practicality of a 600VDC ...

So tell me EV2Go Paul ??? why don't you as a converter support some Australian made products? We have Australian BMS, DC and AC controllers, motors, gauge drivers and yet you deliberately and conscientiously advertise direct importation of foreign products from foreign suppliers. You don't even comp...

I had the good fortune to attend EVS-25 also.
I was like a pig in the proverbial.
So many EVs!
Man the Chinese are leap frogging us here in Oz.
We are getting left soooo far behind.
Keep on digging it up and shipping it out mates...
Import direct and even bypass the middleman.

This is a timely reminder to ALL EV converters and enthusiasts using Lithium batteries. A smoke alarm in the car near the battery pack is essential equipment. Also a smoke alarm in the garage where the EV is recharged, especially if charging is done overnight. These are available for a few dollars f...

Wow... What a great resource for boaties! This website should be a model for other NPOs. AEVA webmasters take note , they actually include a suppliers directory so Aussie EV related businesses can have a reasonable cost advertising opportunity. That way they don't have to try blatant advertising and...

Being this is cyber space it doesn't pay to expose too many personal details for security reasons. I work in the IT industry (on temporary break) and know how easy it is for identity theft to happen; hence I only have the bare minimum displayed. Is a surname really that steal-able? I would have tho...

EV2Go your ongoing comments on this forum have a subtle malicious quality to them. Perhaps it is time you updated your profile to explain who you are instead of hiding behind a cyber persona. There is a point where trading suppliers off against one another becomes anti-competitive especially when yo...

All of what has been said is true. However do consider that Australian vendors usually carry stock and are in a position to quickly assess if a warranty claim is valid. On these terms a replacement cell would usually be supplied (as I have done in the past) immediately. This can't be done if the ven...
