Yes I was thinking of putting the nanos inside. Could the response of the first be added to the string of the second so only one comm channel? On another note, I've been researching arduino lifepo4 monitoring. There are many people discussing how it could be done, but none actually saying "this work...

Question: Since I have a bunch of 3.2v cells on the way, and my old PIP-812HS (12v 1kw) is in storage with 1kw of 12v panels.... I wonder what the max battery voltage could be. To use lifepo4 would require a firmware update anyway. It's pwm model so between 13v and 20v is wasted. So why not make it ...

Time to reassess Lifepo4 When I was writing the code for my soc monitor I had to enter several variables. The first was charging efficiency of lead acid, which many say is 80% while some others say 70%. Let's use 80%. The second is the peukurt effect which we will average to 90%. By contrast, Lithiu...

Well this was interesting https://www.hackster.io/muhammadomer/power-up-a7dacb So for the past week I've spent quite a few hours relearning arduino coding and building a few sketches. Achieved : -Built soc calculator which takes into account things like puekurts law and the efficiency of lead acid. ...

I spent many hours looking into how I could control the SCR with arduino. Complex circuits, resistors & relays, opto-isolators....ugh.
Eventually I stumbled across this arduino controlled triac and at 4A per channel I can control a 16A element much more simply

I don't have a desktop computer so no serial port. Can I solder a male network plug on to the comms pins or is there some reason that won't work?
Correction - the other arduino boards are nano (5pc), not uno

I did state above but I think you missed it. It's a mega, though I also have some uno's. I also have a 16 relay board if required. Yes I think you are right - arduino is better suited for the job. This measuring voltage method maybe isn't best if using Arduino. Instead, I could use a shunt and measure the 0-75mv to see what current is going into the battery. Then make the Arduino decrease the resistance across the SCR (how?....are we just increasing current? Can Arduino control current?), whi...

Yes I understand the firmware mod, but why stop at 16? Why not 17-18-19 or more? Why was it necessary to change to 16 cells? (Other than out of the voltage ranges for the pip, which was fixed with firmware) Why did you choose those particular cells? other cells are better on ah per $ basis. I just c...

Why stop at 15 cells? What are the voltage limits of the pip? The MPPT seems to be 60A limit so why not maximize th...
