Welp, ran out of charge for the first time
I decided to go a little further yesterday than I had before to see what it could handle. Basically two trips into the city and back (22km each way) with a bit of a charge in between - 40mins, which brought it back up to 3/4ths full according to the gauge. I was still 6km from home on the final leg ...

Re: Dash clock losing the correct time
So I noticed that the clock switches to a timer when I charge the bike. The problem is that is doesn't switch back to the clock when the charging is done. The timer becomes the current time.
Is this the right cable to get for flashing the firmware? Is it Cable 1 or Cable 2?

Re: Notes on my commute.
So more of a review of what I've found so far: First the negatives: The suspension is harder and less pleasant than the old petrol scooter, maybe in part to the smaller wheels. And it seems to jar over bigger bumps. Which may be able to be adjusted for me later, at least on the rear. Interestingly I...

Notes on my commute.
So after riding to work and back a few times now, it's been very consistent in using half the battery (according to the display, which could be wrong I guess). And last night I dug out the power measuring meter thingo and plugged it in between the socket and the bike to see what the bike used to cha...

Re: Dash clock losing the correct time
I'm interested in what other solutions to range estimation are. Maybe whatever I go with for that would also be able to display a functional clock. I'm not really keen on swapping out parts. But adding bits on seems a safer route. I'm assuming the range estimation on EVs is driven primarily by the v...

Dash clock losing the correct time
So my clock is losing the current time overnight. Is there a watch battery somewhere that needs to be replaced?
The manual doesn't mention anything about it.

Re: WTB: Vectrix (or functional equivilant)
So after some weeks of negotiation and waiting. I finally got my first EV this week: https://i.imgur.com/hjEvaCD.jpg And I'm pretty stoked with it. The more I ride, the more I like. It's just awesome. Being able to regen is so much fun. It's got more go than my Scarabeo 200. Which you really notice ...

Calb cell pack unhealthy
Seems soon I will have a bunch of CALB cells from a pair of Vectrix's. And at least some of the cells are bad. That's all I know at the moment. Now to the questions. My goal is to: a) get one Vectrix running reliably with as much range as it can handle. b) if there are enough remaining cells, look a...

I don't have any modules, but I'm not looking for DIY at this stage. Like I could if I had too, but my time is precious and I have lot of other stuff on.

Re: X1 vs S6000?
So a short review after the test ride: - Not having a clutch meant take off from the lights is smooth as butter. Even a little too peppy down low to the point I would be worried about traction in the wet. Configurable apparently so a non-issue. - Silence is golden. Love it. Small bit of electric whi...

X1 vs S6000?
I'm going to test drive the X1 next week. I guess the main competition in my mind the ZEV S6000 . The biggest concern other than the price is the small wheels and form factor of the X1. I just don't see it being a good commuter for me (22km each way, 80kph zones, some long steep hills). Leaning towa...

New Leaf: Nissan breaks "end of 2018" promise and now targetting mid 2019 release
Got this email yesterday:

They are giving Hyundai a good run for their money to avoid being the next company to release a BEV in Australia.

Paladin Solar Controller
Thinking about getting one of these: https://www.paladinsolarcontroller.com.au We have 3.5kw of solar on our roof and export power on sunny days, usually more than 10kwh. The system has been online for about 6-7 months so I'm still getting familiar with what it can do. Our hot water system is curren...

Re: Electric Motor Cycle 9 KW
Doesn't look like it can take a pillion passenger. Not that I do that regularly but it's handy sometimes. Maybe I keep my current bike and commute with this most days. Rego isn't so bad for scooters. ~$300/yr.

Re: 2018 Leaf spotted...
My CRX is pretty close to unserviceable, but I can't afford an EV to replace it. So I have to stump up to maintain it and sweath the two-wheeled options as long as I can. We would like to buy a used Leaf (maybe from Japan) in the first half of next year, but it's got to be under $14k. Very frustrat...
