Re: 10 Amp charging

What could go wrong? Rhetorical question of course, but ... https://i.imgur.com/2QsyqL4.jpg Background: I bought my Leaf second hand, this 15A EVSE came with it from the previous owner, the plug had been chopped off and a 10A plug wired on. Was told "it was fine". And it was for many months, until ...

ex-Tesla sites (Euroa, Coffs Harbour)

This might be one for anyone who is relatively local to these sites. Both Euroa (half-way between Melbourne and Albury-Wodonga) and Coffs Harbour (NSW North Coast) have recently been home to a 2-bay Tesla supercharger site. Each of these were temporary. * The Euroa site was at the Shell/Coles Expres...

South East Electric Highway (NSW/Vic coast)

A user on the Tesla Motors Club forum has noticed that in a recent Latrobe City Council meeting, it was mentioned that the Eurobodella Shire Council had contacted Latrobe (and presumably other local government authorities in the area) about a South-East Electric Highway, which goes from Melbourne to...

Re: Plugshare - outlet types

The closest public charge points (within battery range ) to me are listed as Tesla Model S/X , I assume theres no 3 pin for me to plug into so is an adaptor available or what do I need to make an adaptor ?? Hi goingbush, Yes, you'll need an adaptor, as 4Springs says they aren't easy to make yoursel...

Re: Odometer tax?

Interestingly enough, I looked into the origins of the fuel excise and found this general information as to how an excise differs from a tax: As a deterrent, excise is typically directed towards three broad categories of harm: * health risks from abusing toxic substances (thus making it a kind of su...

I just wanted to let you know that I filed a PlugShare bug report requesting that "Wall Outlet (3112)" be differentiated as 10A or 15A. Please be patient, as these things take time.
Hi James - any more news on this?

Re: 2018 Nissan Leaf!

My question is what charge connectors will they have in Australia? It's easy enough for them to say "we'll use the same ones as the old Leaf" but that's not necessarily the best choice going forward in Australia, with Tesla, Renault using Type 2 and the Ioniq yet to be seen (but there's a good chanc...

Wow, what a blast from the past (my old comment). That was before I owned a Leaf myself. Rather embarrassed that past me couldn't tell a J1772 from a Mennekes :-(

What about the Hyundai Ioniq Phev and EV? Plugshare - outlet types

I would say plugshare has sourced that information form tesla directly (location of destination chargers) so they've assumed that the information is true and correct and can't be removed or edited. That seems most likely - I'm aware that happens with Superchargers (Plugshare import details directly...

It has a Tesla destination charger, but the box isn't ticked on the edit page. (If I tick it, the main box then tells me it has two Destination chargers!)

- Change all "Wall outlet (120V)" entries in Australia to "Wall outlet (3112)" Hi Chuq! At which AU locations are you finding the US wall outlets? I'm a PlugShare admin and can make the corrections for you. You can refer to a location with the PlugShare ID#: e.g.: http://www.plugshare.com/?location...

Well, the 120V site has gone! When I say "more icons" I mean the blue/green/orange icons. a 10A (2.4kW) socket and a 22kW destination charger are both green, and a 50kW Chademo and a 130kW Tesla Supercharger are both orange. But they are significantly different, in both deliverable energy rate and w...

Plugshare - outlet types

Does the naming of the various plug types on Plugshare annoy anyone else? "Wall outlet (3112)" - can refer to either a 10A or 15A outlet. The "3112" won't mean anything to most people. "Caravan mains socket" is a outlet not used any any caravan park in Australia (to my knowledge). "Blue Commando" - ...

I think due to the rate of new chargers appearing, it would be best not to re-invent the wheel. Plugshare is the best site out there, there is also Openchargemap but I don't believe it is as thorough.

Of course not for me :) But for advising nearby businesses on the approximate costs.
