Re: Hyundai Kona road Noise

I just did this too. Two rolls of the Jaycar AX3687 product ($32.95/roll) was just right to do the luggage area. The foam bits all still fitted back in. I am reasonably sure it has made a worthwhile noise reduction but my wife says she can't notice a difference.

Re: Frunk/Froot for Kona

Have done this and the gas struts as well which are pretty cool Our Hyundai dealer stressed to us that we should not push down on the bonnet to close it because it is a soft aluminium. Instead, we were instructed, we should just drop the bonnet from a certain height to close. How have things worked...

Re: New Kona Owner: home charging advice sought

With such a large battery in the Kona, 10A charging is ample for most patterns of local driving. We have the car set to stop charging at 80% unless anticipating an imminent out-of-town trip. Is there an easy way to override the 80% charging limit? I, too, have my Kona set to stop charging at 80%, b...

Re: X1 vs S6000?

Just a minor comment. I would not worry to much about having a battery % but not range remaining estimate on the display of a short range city commuter vehicle of any sort. On cars I have only started paying slight attention to the distance estimate since having a long range electric car to use out ...

Re: Kona towing article

in the RVCS listing for Kona Electric HMCA have given the Kona a 0kg tow rating interestingly.. https://rvcs.infrastructure.gov.au/perl/48794_1279327_RVD_28Aug2018103114.cmd I strongly suspect that this is just what the software puts in by default until some other number is entered in that field. Re: New Kona Owner: home charging advice sought

I also have a Kona. I use the Hyundai-supplied 10A EVSE for routine charging at home. I leave it hung up next to a power point where I park. I also own a portable adjustable 6/10/15/32A EVSE charge cord. I have a 32A outlet at home that I could use but I don't bother. For convenience, I leave the 32...

Re: Kona towing article

So in conclusion car dealers are car dealers. :) Its pretty much then same type of moaning you get with any car and fitting aftermarket gear. In part, but not entirely. I believe they did talk to the head office and head office does have concerns, albeit not clearly expressed when third hand. I am ...

Re: Kona towing article

I posted the following addendum to the article, just as a comment, then it disappeared. Not sure what happened. Subsequent to the above article, our Kona had a problem and I took it to the dealer’s service department for investigation. In the end the problem could not be replicated and seems to have...

I'm happy to undertake a full 93 Ah upgrade here in Perth, while Graeme is well placed to service East Coast projects out of Logan.
Excellent. I'd love to see a serious cottage industry for such upgrades getting going.

Drove from Canberra to Narooma on the NSW south coast today on our first try towing a Jayco Flite camper trailer with a Kona electric. 225km and arrived with 95km range remaining, so 320km range, down from over 400km normally without a trailer. Re: I've got my Kona

I've been told by the dealer that only the EU will get the 11kW charger. Apparently, we're still getting the 7.2kW as before. Cheers, Phil That makes sense. In Europe there is more 3 phase AC charging all the way along streets, so 3 phase at 15A is both a bit more useful to the driver and won't ris...

The rumour was that they might do 32A on all three phases for 22kW (7kW still on a s...
