Updated charge station POI for nav. Dec 2015 data

It worked! Has anyone figured out how to disable the annoying startup screen and go straight to the map without pressing OK? No, however this device gets around the annoyance of the MMCS locking up while you are driving so passengers can't program the destination etc. I gather its about $100 (seems...

100,000 PHEV Outlanders sold world wide

Probably more about incentives though, like congestion charge exemptions in London. Yep, the 3 biggest countries for PHEV sales are Japan, Netherlands and UK. The latter 2 have BIG incentives which make the PHEV cheaper than ICE for some consumers. Intrigued there have been 2000 sales in Oz, last I...

Chademo charger for the Outlander?

After owning them for a while, what is the verdict? Does the concept stack up? After 1 year and 15,500 km I can say for our family it is fantastic and perfectly suited to our needs (replaced a Honda CRV). I'm just back from a 2200km trip taking 4 mountain bikes and 2 waveski's on the PHEV so a Priu...

rego discount for EVs? Not sure about Vic, however the list is very clear in NSW and includes PHEV and EV vehicles. Unfortunately the exact amount of the discount is not shown, when I asked it was tiny ($20-$50 pa). - http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/registration/fees/#Non-lowertaxedandlowertaxedveh...

Fuel efficient tip for driving the Outlander

Save or use and recharge is an intersting conundrum. For those who have concluded that using Charge is more economical than Save, how have you determined that the battery is at the same level at the end of the trip as it was at the start? To make a fair comparison I would think more than the batter...

Fuel efficient tip for driving the Outlander

1GR8KA wrote: how many watts that would be ie 1kw per hour used for 10 seconds ?

Correct, it only amounts to much if it involves a long distance. You can see the power draw of the e-motors while hypermiling using my EvBatMon App.

Fuel efficient tip for driving the Outlander

The paddles are your gateway to greater range. Especially B0, coasting. Yes, coasting (also referred to in some forums as "Hypermiling") is fantastic, however did you know the PHEV uses about 1kW of power to stop the e-motors from slowing the car down. Tesla uses a different motor design to prevent...

Not sure if it is the software or my adapter. Is there a better discussion of this elsewhere? Hi Mike, thanks for the feedback. The other place for discussion is myImiev.com . Yes, gw4ber's battery capacity is 27Ah and the value is the lowest currently showing on the EvBatMon graph (27Ah, 84450km).

I might give the ebay one in your list a go. I have just tested and can confirm that the ebay wifi adapter on the PHEV list works in our iMiEV. However be aware that ebay products can change from shipment to shipment, already we have noted one OBD adapter on the PHEV list which worked in one shipme...

Ah, just found this http://www.evpositive.com/evbatmon-for-phev.html#OBD I presume the ones that work for PHEV are likely to work for the i-MiEV too. caniOn only supports the Scantools OBD as they use STN11xx rather than ELM327 protocol. We support a wider range of OBD, however it is still the case...

Outlander- has anyone driven 51km on EV?

Vics get $100 discount on the Hybrids. So rego is $177 BUT the 3rd party is another $350 or so depending on your postcode. Wow that's cheap, now I feel really sad http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley19.gif . The $504 in NSW is not including CTP! And VIC don't need to register trailers either, d...

Outlander- has anyone driven 51km on EV?

My PHEV rego just came in for renewal and I was surprised to see it is $200 higher than our iMiEV which was only just registered as well. NSW PHEV is $504, iMiEV was $293, I know most of this is due to the different weight (1100 vs 1800kg) however it seems high? I'm wondering if mine has been correc...

stock iMiev tires make it an ideal "drift car"... I can skate around corners with the greatest of ease! As I have 2x EV, I have both bought the Jaycar $79 one with the CB, and made my own. I'm actually onto my 2nd hand made one, as the Active started melting so you do need to be careful with homemade and INSPECT REGULARLY.

OK - the battery graph needs some translation for me :-) The Ah capacity of the battery directly determines how far you can drive. The graph simply shows the Ah capacity of the PHEV battery on the vertical axis, and time on the horizontal axis. Each blue dot is a reading from the PHEV BMU ECU (batt...

The key to making this system work is the style of PV used. Thin flexible solar panels (about 3mm thick ) That weigh about 4kg for a 200w panel. 15 panels 3kg pr 200w panel so just 45kg - 3000w That's actually a great idea, I'm sure the cost would not be much more than flat as you'd have trailer co...
