minicab miev

I found out I could import a Minicab miev from japan, I went straight ahead. Its on its way from japan in the next week and has to be complied in Brisbane Did you do it yourself or use an agent like www.j-spec.com.au/lineup/Mitsubishi/Minicab/MiEV/id-B91 Has anyone had any experience with the minic...

I-MiEV Main battery cell failure

Monday it dropped 5 bars in 17km with zero net climb That does not sound good. Are you definitely giving it enough time to do the balancing to completion after the drop to <2 bars? If you are running on a timer or offpeak period it may not be long enough. The battery warranty in Australia is pretty...

Were you happy with the wear of the Kumho g4qber (or anyone else who's had them on for a while)?

I've had another quote -
155-60R15
Kumho KH11 - $119
Nankang AS-1 - $113

175/55R15
Kumho KH11 - $149

second is an airbag recall, apparently very recent Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely sit on my hands for a while as we don't even bother getting Mitsu to service our iMiEV as its out of warranty. So you now have the same iMiEV + PHEV combination as us! Pretty sweet complimentary pair eh? How...

iMiev Recall notice

So has everyone gotten the new recall notice? Something about a software update to the Cell Motor Unit. Yep. Sounds bizarre! CMU judgement of changes to the temp and voltage of the traction battery can occur when the vehicle is rolling backwards, and this may result in lack of forward acceleration....

MY17 Outlander PHEV

Just noticed an email from MMAU from last week saying the new MY17 PHEV site is now up – https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/vehicles/outlander-phev?CID=PHEV17_full Such a pity that the new EV button is promoted as "useful when driving through neighbors in early morning or when a baby is sleeping i...

Thanks heaps for posting all the goss on the MY17 and confirming that EvBatMon is still compatible. Wow 39.4Ah battery capacity, I guess we need to adjust the 100% PMC up a bit!

I've heard rumours that the MY17 will have a 1500W 240V powerpoint in the boot, do you have any indication whether that will be the case?

Towing with the Outlander PHEV

The "rig". Thanks for posting your towing experiences. I've towed a few vans in my time, however none with the PHEV (yet). Here is what 1500kg gets you in Europe, this guy is passionate about using "Charge" mode in his PHEV, I guess he has a "bit" more windage, lol. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/upload...

selling for $19K AUD. Wow that seems over priced. 1 is now marked as Sold. For a local delivery business the convenience and payback in fuel savings alone could be say 100km/day x 200 days = around $2000/yr (10c/kWh vs 1.30/litre) + much less maintenance. Maybe it would suit a florist as flower arr...

Buying a used Outlander PHEV

A question for the Outlander PHEV drivers... has anyone worked out how many km they get per kwH of charging? I get 6 km/per kwH on my Leaf, but the PHEV would be heavier. Just trying to work out whether the extra cost of getting set up to use off-peak electricity, at half the price per kwH, would b...

Noises on!

Well the AVAS in the Outlander PHEV is annoying once you first notice it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEivtfIVNow I usually switch it off which needs to be done every time you drive. Tyres make lots of noise, you can hardly hear the ICE of a specific modern vehicle near you, except under heavy ac...

Chademo charger for the Outlander?

They could also do a software update on the old model and have the ECO button do the same Interestingly, the MY17 has both the old "Eco Mode" button on the dash AND a new "EV" button near 4wd lock. I agree with you HHL, remapping the Eco button would have sufficed as the PHEV already has enough but...

I spoke with the MMAU product specialist at the AEVA AGM. MY17 Outlander PHEV's Not Shayna Welsh by any chance? why they bothered with an EV only mode and what it actually means. In the 2014, unless you sink the boot in or run out of battery - it's EV only anyway. I've yet to meet a PHEV owner (maybe you're the first?) who doesn't want an "EV only" button, because watching the power gauge is painful. Even on...

That blue flashing led is associated with it. It seems like it isn't activated unless you lock the doors with the button on the remote key. This is probably the answer, we leave our iMiEV unlocked in the garage so I guess I didn't need to "deactivate" the immobiliser with my dead key. PHEW! the rem...

What good would a key be if it didn't work? I though immobilizers either worked via keys that have built-in circuitry, or - well I'm not sure how else they'd work. I once had a Daewoo with an immobiliser built into a lump on the key, it used a close proximity energiser coil to run the onkey chip (a...
