NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet

yep please RSVP so we can book out the powered sites. RSVP on facebook if you have it [/URL] I'm coming (RSVP'd fb), just don't count me as needing a powerpoint as I can do the round trip without charging. I can also do a coffee shop run on the day if required. Is there a good place for lunch or sh...

NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet

I'll check with the wife (who'll ring her mother who is office manger), last time fees was a couple dollars per car (so we could justify putting in a EVSE) . the main thing is because your recharging on powered sites it needs to not be very busy at the park. Hi Gabz, did you confirm whether the 3rd...

Just an update on tyre wear... Note the fronts were replaced at 45,000km edit: corrected LR 2.1 Thanks for the update, just about to put continental ecocontac3 in 155x60 R15 on my fronts unless you have thought of a better option, how long do you think your new fronts will last all-up, 50Kkm? I thi...

Gabz advised on another thread that there is one higher speed charger however you might need to share it with him. When I went to Castle Hill, I was surprised that in about 5hrs I had enough to do 85km home so you probably don't need 7hrs even on a 15A charger. Also Gabz, would you mind checking wit...

NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet

Hi, just wondering how many EV owners (doesn't have to be iMiEV, I'm interested in meeting other EV & PHEV owners) would be interested to meet on Sunday 3rd May or Sunday 10th of May at Shelly Beach Caravan Park (Central Coast, The Entrance/Tuggerah area)?

Outlander PHEV

mcudogs and rHills, thanks for sharing your early experience of your PHEV. I'm an iMiEV owner now thinking of trading a Honda CRV for a PHEV Aspire and I'm interested if you (or any other PHEV owners) have anything to add now that you have owned the PHEV for a year or so? Appreciate any feedback. P....

iMiEV has a "black box" recorder

There appear to be two "black boxes" under discussion here: 1. The ones fitted to iMievs for the Victorian EV trial. 2. The airbag control module. Actually 3. I was originally thinking about the data available via the OBD interface. It certainly has more detail than the airbag, however I'm not sure...

iMiEV has a "black box" recorder

I wonder if the Police would think to extract data from our iMiEV in the case of a serious accident. All sorts of info including speed, acceleration etc. What are the legalities?

Portable generator

Canion monitors the DC current going from the onboard charger to the battery pack. So. The 6.2A is DC at the pack voltage, probably around 330V at the time you were looking. This gives about 2079W, that is approx 10A at 230V (2300W) less charger losses. Of course, that makes heaps more sense! The I...

NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet

When we had the LEAF meet I'd certainly be happy for Leaf owners to join in. Infact "Mr EV" (Dr Michael Symons) was talking about purchasing a Leaf so I'm sure there are other iMiEV owners (like me) who have never seen one or are interested in hearing about them from owners. Now we just need to get...

central coast is as far as i can get and still get home within a reasonable time, the leaf owners group did have a meet up at shelly beach at the carvan park there because of mutliple 15amp powerpoints. This may be do-able even for Sydney owners, especially if they drop in at Castle Towers or Westf...

Hi fellow owners! This is a thread to meet other owners with the view to meeting in person. The first NSW iMiEV owners meeting happened Sunday 11th Jan. When can we meet again? Last Sunday I met with another 2 iMiEV owner in Sydney and forgot Gabz (didn't know about iDavid). I had invited John(Katoo...

The small button on the boot is for locking only. To unlock from the boot, just open it. The main handle is an electric switch which also unlocks the car so long as the remote is in range. (Took me a while to figure this out too). Thanks mate, that makes perfect sense and explains what I was experi...

Thanks guys for confirming that its a quirk of the car and not me. Since this post I'm actually finding that the drivers door button is very reliable, however the boot button hardly ever unlocks the car for me (to me the boot button just seems to just try to lock the car each time I press it). Its a...

I think I've read somewhere (can't find it again however) that its best to run the battery down low before recharging it. Is that correct, and where is the definitive list of do's and don'ts? The problem I have with running the battery down low, is that you need to plan ahead whether you're going to...

Hmmm... I wonder if anyone would want to steal an iMiEV? I'm not a big fan of alarms as 9 times out of 10 its a false alarm. Don't think I'll bother, if you've activated your alarm do you find any annoying issues with it or is it set & forget?

Incase this happens to someone else, today I stopped to buy some beer, on return to the car while balancing the slab I pressed the boot release a few times as it never seems to work. Finally worked. I replaced the fronts with 155 wide last year not because they were worn out but to improve the crosswind stability. I can assure you the difference is outstanding ! .... Hi fellow "electric guitar" owners, especially of the iMiEV variety. Just thought I'd say hi having purchased an ex Better Place / Ausgrid 2010 iMiEV last week. So far so good, battery seems in good nic and mostly impressed with the car (as long as I'm inside or looking at it side on, lol). The car ...
