I-MIEV Battery Replacement warning

Has anyone tried sourcing a LEV-50 cell? I'm thinking it might be a good idea to at least know how to purchase one in Australia so we can do a cell swap at short notice (assuming the battery fault is a dead cell).

http://www.commutercars.com/au/buy-lease-rent.html Thanks for posting, hadn't seen or heard of the Tango. Makes our 2010 iMiEV's look cheap AND "visually appealing", compared to the even uglier Tango! Still, 0-100 in 3.x seconds is P85D territory, wow. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley32.gif

80km range imiev in winter

EvBatMon - PHEV Android Battery App developer (currently looking for beta testers!) Just noticed this - is it only for hybrids or would it be useful to test on an iMiev? I'm an experienced beta tester, PM me if you like... Hi the App currently is targetted at the PHEV as there is no CanIon etc, how...

80km range imiev in winter

I discovered all 4 of my tires were severely underinflated! Some as low as 19psi. Now that that's fixed, I expect another bump up in range! My daughter did a year 9 school science assignment studying driving efficiency of our 2010 iMiEV (24 runs using over the same route using 2 different drivers, ...

EV saves the day? Movie "The Martian"

Hi, a bit OT, however a friend has recommended I see the current cinema movie "The Martian" so I thought I'd pass on the suggestion to other EV owners. Apparently issues we iMiEV owners face such as heating an EV and travelling much further than the range of the EV are played out in the movie. I'm s...

I don't see why there is so much hate for the remaining range meter. It seems to me to do a good job... That's because you guys in WA don't know what a hill looks like, lol http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley36.gif . WA is so flat, RR would work well. Interestingly, the RR in my PHEV is much b...

Fuel efficient tip for driving the Outlander

Option 3: Car fully charged on departure, use all electric for the first 45km, let it automatically start using petrol when it's run out. Do not use CHARGE or SAVE modes. Yep, the car will get the best economy (# except in 1 circumstance, see below) TRIP B - a 200km, mostly motor way. In this case ...

Outlander PHEV-should I get one?

i got the cash back too, thanks for the tip! No worries ..... you owe me a beer! To any PHEV owners out there who are interested in the internal workings of their car, I am developing an Android App which taps into the PHEV to reveal info like the current battery capacity, voltage of each of the 80...

2010 iMiEV Regen on full battery

The car has to protect the pack from overcharge so regen would be dialled back when doing downhills within a few km of fully charging. That's the whole point of this thread, because I experience significantly lower regen in the PHEV in these circumstances, however in the same circumstances in th...

fully charged, with regen after, it can go to 362 V and I see cells going to 4,140 V. This might have something to do with it, however both the iMiEV and PHEV should be similar? I wonder if older cells in the 2010 iMiEV might also play a part by tricking the regen into thinking the cells can take m...

it's unlikely that they charged the battery to 100% then towed the vehicle up to 60MPH.. I.E The battery pack was unlikely to be at 100% SOC for the braking test. True, however similar applies to my situation where I take a fully charged iMiEV, drive at 60km/h to the first corner and observe the st...

Interesting testing done here iMiEV regen on full battery

"Braking at 100% SOC from 60-0 mph7
Measured Time: 3.2 s
Distance: 124.8 ft
Peak Power into Battery: 43.5 kW"

Sounds like my observations of iMiEV vs PHEV are "normal" after all?

Outlander PHEV Ground Clearance

Could I ask any of you who have access to an Outlander PHEV to check the clearance between the exhaust pipe and the ground. I just measured my Aspire and clearance is least where the exhaust pipe changes thickness which is probably just under the pillar between driver and back passenger doors. It w...

iMiEV best path through the "firewall"

I have put an indoor/outdoor thermometer in our 2010 iMiEV, however I can't see any easy way to get the wired outdoor sensor outside. Usually there is a rubber plug or something in the firewall to easily slip through. Has anyone found or read about a suitable place as I've looked from both sides and...

front wiper blade a couple of weeks back. Purchase from Repco for $14. What year iMiEV do you have? Headed to Repco today with the bonus of 30% off for club members this weekend. But Alas, nothing suitable for a 2010 iMiEV (needs 10mm). I took the actual blade+assembly in (unclips easily) and staff...

I wonder if its more than just the plug+cable that they drop? Is there a "high speed charge cooling system" in the PHEV (like redirecting the aircon that the iMiEV has) which could go if the Chademo goes?

I'd rather have the fast charger option than not. Why would you not??? I'd rather have a Telsla P85D than an iMiEV! Either there is a serious cost saving by dropping the fast charge, or there is some other reason for dropping it. I've worked for a company (Infomedia) which handle electronic spare p...

How many KM combined each week where you driving in your two previous ICE cars My stats are from the 10 week school term 2 so this is what happens about 40/52 weeks a year. We averaged 182 km/week in the PHEV and 341 in the iMiEV. Prior to switching to 2xEV we were doing about 25Kkm in a CRV and ab...

It comes with standard with fast charger elsewhere... If you read MyPHEV a few UK owners discuss not bothering to stop to charge en-route. Why? Because they find the chargepoint is often either broken or in use. Charging en-route sounds good in theory, however in practice its a different thing. 3rd...

I drive in B mode all the time as its been "scientifically proven" on the 2010 model to be the least Wh/km (regardless of the driver). However I've found something that might be a problem with that strategy. Only a few 100m from my house there is a downhill corner that requires slowing. My Outlander...
