Outlander- has anyone driven 51km on EV?

my build date is 04/2014 Wow that's older than mine which was built 7/2014 and purchased 4/2015. Here is my battery capacity history, however since I did that graph the BMU has revised the usable capacity upwards bringing the 10yr outlook to > 50% PMC (Percentage of Manufacturer's Capacity). www.ev...

Outlander- has anyone driven 51km on EV?

Just got my PHEV a few days ago ... battery showed 2 dashes after 55km Sounds like the VW trained you well. Hats off to you, the best I've managed is about 47km with 2km RR so about 49km. My current battery capacity is 35.7Ah. Did you purchase new or 2nd hand and what was the build date? I'd be int...

pooling our resources. How about this then : 10 EV owners agree to do the trip, one each year from 2017- 2027. That's only $1k ea owner for the entire solar setup inc insurance etc. Much cheaper than a genny+fuel, and I think you'd have trouble carrying genny fuel in a pleasant, safe and legal mann...

The key to making this system work is the style of PV used. Thin flexible solar panels (about 3mm thick ) That weigh about 4kg for a 200w panel. 15 panels 3kg pr 200w panel so just 45kg - 3000w That's actually a great idea, I'm sure the cost would not be much more than flat as you'd have trailer co...

I am planning, scheming, strategising, theorising,(well dreaming), a three month trek around Oz in the LEAF. What are you thinking to achieve this? Maybe hook up a "little" trailer with a folding array of about a 15-20 solar panels should give you 2400W most of the day. Travel at night would help, ...

Good question, I missed a stop. We stopped at Maclean River Caravan Park for a top up and went for a coffee and a walk. Ah, I thought the good Dr might have lent you his e-jerry can for that leg! My wife had a chuckle at the BP charge. Did you have to pay for the charge at any of the stops? If anyo...

Hats off to you, that's so impressive! Thanks for posting.

A couple of questions, how did you do the Ballina 125km leg? Also, did you have to forego airconditioning to get to any destinations as it would have been pretty hot on occasions?

Awesome trip, thanks for posting. I feel a bit vulnerable in the iMiEV when passing Bdoubles just going from Gosford to Hornsby, so you are doing well for your huge trip.

used battery only mode, only using 'Charge' on the faster stretches if the battery is running low. what is my best option? Its been a long time since I was in Busselton area but from memory its pretty flat. For a trip you can do entirely on EV, only press ECO. If you can't make it on pureEV, press ...

I push ECO every trip. If you push it when driving you can feel the acceleration drop. Also the airconditioning is not as powerful.

For the purpose of experimentiation, I would be willing to give you one of my old cells for free. There is a youtube video from the canIon App creator which gives pretty clear instructions on swapping out one cell in an iMiEV, which Martin did successfully. So the only real issue is finding a 2nd h...

NSW - Charging Stations On Off-Peak Meters.

Ausgrid have informed me that any device can be attached to an off-peak meter as long as it is signed off by the installer. .... This means that an EV charging station can be connected to the off peak meter circuit In case anyone else is looking for the definitive rule on this, here is Ausgrid's ES...

I got some of those screws out by mashing the side of the blade of a cheapo small screwdriver with a hammer. It then fitted two of the three sides. Thanks for the tip Johny - I managed to get 1 screw off and drilled the other out. Unfortunately there is no fuse visible, including under the main PCB...

This looks perfect, thanks. I'm not fussed about it being horizontal, just not sticking out from the wall as its tight next to the car.

Looks like my Jaycar timer (MS6110, recommended by other owners) which I used to charge our iMiEV died last night after 1 year and 9 days on the job (Jaycar apparently has only a 3 month warranty, lol). Though when testing you app on your Imiev perhaps the app is giving the battery % Its not a %, I am getting an Ah value directly. 50ah nominal (LEV50 cells)from the factory but more than 48ah after a capacity test. As far as I have read, the PHEV uses LEV50N which just "has higher durability in a hot environment" than the LEV50 - lev50-vs-lev50n In this they state "14.5 kWh (80 cells)" whereas the PHEV has 12kWh in its 80 cel...

Interesting 36.8ah. Given a new Imiev has 48ah Well I've been told the 80 cell battery in the PHEV is 40Ah "nominal" and from the 10 or so I have tested with my App worldwide, none have been over 38.2Ah including a brand new 2016MY PHEV. That would make the iMiEV 40 x 88/80 or 44Ah, not 48Ah wouldn...

The radio/nav in our 2010 iMiEV has gone on the blink.... the Nav now no longer gets any satellites. The dealer agrees the radio is part of the car's 5 year warranty, however they say the GPS stopped working because we don't have an SDcard in it. I don't believe this as it clearly shows there is no...
