Gear differences 2012 D, C, B

It is good that they all have the same acceleration in all modes! I was surprised in my dad's 2010 in Eco mode to find it has restricted power even when you press the accelerator hard into the floor. Image

iMiEV wouldn't go to Ready

My Dad's 2010 wouldn't goto ready after charging at the UWA DC fast charger.
I hopped in turned the "key" and nothing happened, used the key fob to lock and unlock the car a few times and it went to ready.

I-MiEV oops almost ran out

My understanding was that the DC fast chargers will terminate the charge once SOC reaches 80% but if a charge commences with over 80% SOC it will charge to 100%. So just unplug and start another charging session should work?

Effect of Temperature on Range

I noticed with my Niki conversion that wh/km effecincy improves after 5-10km of driving. First few km would be hard to get under 1AH per km but after that 0.75AH per km could be achieved.
I found tyres can have a big effect too Changed all 4 tyres and range dropped from 64km to 50km to 80%dod.

Yes it's not a big deal at the moment if you can't use j1772 stations because there are so few in Perth. Only times we have used one is to test that it worked and another time because we were at the magic nissan dealer.

Public chargers that you can use with upgraded imiEV are the j1772 type. They have the plug and cable hardwired to the bollard so all you need to do is connect it to the car.

Thought that was normal behaviour for the MFD to show full with 75% SOC.

Antiscab's NWH10 Prius plugin Lithium conversion

My Prius did the same thing with the brand new NiMH cells. It wouldn't use hardly any electric power and would go from "full" to yellow on the battery gauge with one hard acceleration. Once I cleared the error codes it ran fine.

I think $18,000 is abit much. Should be able to get it for $16-17,000 drive away.

City gear or Eco on 2010

Yeah the 2010 doesn't have regen on the brake pedal unfortunately. So I drive mainly in B mode and shift to Eco for cruising so I can coast easier and be lazy with accelerator pedal control.

City gear or Eco on 2010

I noticed the other day driving my dad's 2010 iMiEV that in "Eco" gear full power is not available! Just assumed that it would be same as a Leaf where you floor it and still have max power. Is it the same behavior on the newer I's in city gear?

Sharing Home chargers

I voted other. Did have our house on plugshare (I think or another site ) but we   lost the PowerPoint in the meter box after adding more solar panels, rcd's, and a 15A power point in the garage.

Good going! Image but if they purchased a Leaf or iMiEV they would burn no gas and have a cheaper electricity bill. Image

The SOC is reading 90% so that's probably why the charge rate has dropped to 2.4Kw. Did you notice a higher reading earlier in the charge?

2010 iMiEV Rear bumper

Dad's imiev was in a minor accident and has damaged the rear bumper. There is an inner lining to the bumper that fell off somewhere on the way home and was wondering if anybody else with a 2010 can take a look and see if it is one piece or two? The dealer has it as 2 parts in the quote but think it ...

Range extender Efficiency Study

It will be interesting to see how BMW's i3 fares with the Range extender being an optional extra. From an early review it sounds like the performance is compromised with the battery depleted and running on the ICE and then there is the tiny fuel tank too! It's certainly no Volt, more of an EV with t...

Ian Hooper's Honda NSR150 conversion

I remember you getting that bike ages ago! http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley1.gif I think 40km range is realistic. My Vectrix has 42 x 40AH CALB cells (around 5.3Kwh)and can do 85km riding gently at 50-60kph and it is hard get under 65km range riding harder and faster to 80%DOD. I haven't tri...

Leaf Ownership Scheme in UK

Yes any fast chargers would be good. Currently WA has none and it would be handy to have a few in Perth city but the rest would be better placed outside the city close to highways with 24hr access.

Free fast charging at dealers sounds great in theory but is it really a useful deployment of chargers? Good to see they are putting some of them where they are actually useful though!(on the motorways) I know Nikki from Transport Evolved has said before that dealer fast chargers are often ICE'd or t...
