50,000km

I reckon a new battery pack will be my choice - currently about $8000 -hopefully cheaper in 4 1/2 years. Certainly cheaper than a new car. Although if these Metron range extender packs came down in price (currently 6300 euros) - might go there first: http://eauto.si/en/new-projects/   (scroll to bot...

$20k driveaway 2010/2011 i-MiEVs at Paceway Mitsu

Looks like there are already another 2 for sale in SA as well. Have been told by various folk at Mitsubishi (usually whilst hanging around the Fast Charger) that there are up to 80 of these ex-lease vehicles to be sold. There was talk at one point that they were being refurbed and would come with a ...

Fast Charging and meeting the Outlander PHEV

Yes, this week I saw at least a dozen PHEV Outlanders at Mitsubishi. They were on "dealer training". Sadly for me this meant they had parked in the Fast Charger spots too (blocking access)- even though they are not equipped for fast charging. Interestingly, they do have the two "petrol flap" style o...

Headrest

I really hate the headrest too, it makes my neck hurt on a longer trip. Yesterday I had the opportunity to try the headrest from a MY10 in my MY12 iMiev. The MY10 headrest is a lot smaller and not height adjustable but fitted perfectly, of course, and is just a little less sharply angled in. Or perh...

Energy White Paper- Issues Paper-EV's

"Don't they allow that now and how would they know?" [/QUOTE] No they don't allow it in SA at present. There was a small window a couple of years ago when they did but I didn't have an electric car then. Now some do it "unofficially" by rearranging their off peak electric hot water. Sadly that does...

Well, that's a nice and positive article.

Well done with our submission.

Hope AGL's submission means they'll soon let me charge overnight at off peak rates!

*Recall*Vacuum pump for brakes

It makes sense that the problem might have been only one batch of silver pumps, not all silver pumps. Quite possibly the case. However, on booking my imiev in for it's 2 month service next week, I asked them to check the records for my car and was told that the vacuum pump was replaced in August 20...

Kurt - that website is pretty neat! Elevation plays a big role, but even Bunbury to Bridgetown (90 km up hill) with two passengers, left the iMiEV with 20% in the tank. It is a great website, isn't it? I'm using it to calcualte typical South Aust semi rural routes and thinking of calling it the PYP...

I think the imiev (yesterday's "car's guide (bulls*it)", complete with beautiful colour photo of imiev with "imiev" number plate" tells how no imievs were sold in 2013 because they are no good. Such a wonderful source of information. Yes, if none were sold last year, then what's that sitting in my ...

Expanding the "slow charging" network was discussed at the AEVA meeting last Wed night in Adelaide. As well as trying to address the gaping hole in charging available anywhere north of...
