TPMS on i-MiEVs

Some interesting replies on the TPMS question I posted on the US forum.... See http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1881 I had not heard of iTPMS until reading that posting and the associated wiki talking about it. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire-pressure_monitoring_system That ABS st...

Home and Car based i-MiEV charging hardware

On the topic of charging I should point out that part to my life now is lived in BC Canada and I thought it might be good to draw a comparison between Adelaide and Vancouver’s views on charging infrastructure. Here is Vancouver's current plan: “ Electric vehicle charging requirements Did you know th...

Home and Car based i-MiEV charging hardware

I can confirm the Volt charger IP rating is IP66 (as per the back of the black box of our unit) – the plug obviously not. We have never had an RCD trip. I used a LANSON LANRCB0616S C16 30ma RCD/Breaker in the installation. It is in a carport and under cover. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/uploads/282/Vol...

Home and Car based i-MiEV charging hardware

Humm.... I'm showing IP66 on both the Volt and i-MiEV products I have?

Have I have missed something?

Maybe the brick is IP67 and the connector is IP66 on Mitsi item??

Home and Car based i-MiEV charging hardware

After we purchased our new i-MiEV, we needed to give some consideration to the most convenient way of re-charging the little EV both a home and away. I would like to start this thread to show one way of accomplishing this AND also document in one place what others have done along the same journey. I...

iMiEV tyre wear status

Should also add....

I’ve had a good look at the front end of the i and can only say WOW!

It is indeed very light duty and certainly would not take much of a curb kiss to put things out of alignment.

I’ve actual seen false ABS light triggering using a space saver (50 Km/h rated) and was told the problem is the wheel speed is obviously different on the wheel with the smaller diameter. So the speed difference is what caused the issue. In your case having the same diameter on all wheels (or pair’s ...

New MY14 Imiev Fast charging $22,995

In the case of a model change such as this, does that mean new Australian compliance is needed for the MY14?

I would assume so??

So with ‘On Order Only’ how does that work?

Would think getting ADR compliance is not a cheap exercise...

TPMS on i-MiEVs

Thanks Yes I had a look as well and no clues... I emailed the Mitsi dealer in Florida that supplied the Fog/DRL kits (seems very helpful) and he says there is no retro fit kit so out of luck. But as you suggested, I have just posted on the US Forum some questions about the TPMS operation and how it ...

TPMS on i-MiEVs

Just borrowed one of these Tyredogs to try and seem to do the job nicely. So have ordered one with some spare sensors.... Most likely the easiest way to have the alarm feature and will just modify the case to suit my mounting arrangement.

Peter glad your sunshade works 100%.

Did it end up costing around $90 in the end?

How small does it fold up when not being used?

Any chance of a photo open and folded?

Cheers

TPMS on i-MiEVs

Anyone played with TPMS on this forum? The U.S. i-MiEVs must have it as the U.S. Federal Regulations require that all new light vehicles sold in the U.S. since September 2007 be equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Thought I would check to see what is missing to implement the syst...

The lack of knowledge about these little cars continues to amaze me. Kurt the dates are: Built Jan 12 (as per passenger door sticker) – As you suggest Australian Approval date (Compliance) 01/13 (as per driver door sticker) Interesting thing is which dates the Dealer, SA Government and Shannon’s use. - Dealer uses the Compliance date (01/13) - SA Government uses 2013...

Getting a bit off the radio topic but.... Thanks, I have never found a source clarifying that statement and would be interested in what actually is the story. I also remind people about the battery pack change that occurred in June 2011. Not sure of the exact date of change but here is a cut and paste from the wiki on it.... ‘In June 2011 Mitsubishi announced the introduction of lithium titanate oxide SCiB battery technology for its two new models of elec...

The MZ314538 Fog/DRL lamp kit arrived and I have had a chance to work out a suitable mounting bracket as the US model does have a different bar assembly (wider etc) then ours. Never thought about moisture entering via the callipers but maybe you have a point. With good seals/boots, should remin very dry in there anyway? My view was been that the biggest problem is the largish surface area of the fluid in the reservoir (ie under the filler cap). This is where you do a simp...
