Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

Here is the link for the motor specs. http://www.eastgem.net/d7500.html And the specs don't agree with physics... 10,000W and 4,500RPM is 21Nm NOT 100Nm. or 100Nm and 4,500RPM is 47,123W 7,500W and 4,000RPM is 18Nm NOT 50Nm. or 50Nm and 4,000RPM is 20,943W IF 7.5kW is the input power with 82% effici...

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

Mechanically you'll need to know the coupling to the wheel from the motor.
There seem to be a few variants to the LT250?!?
Is it just a chain and sprockets?

If so you'll need a sprocket for the motor.

I'd think it would be okay for a general run about.

I'd like a range of more than 50km for maintenance tasks around the farm, but I think that this would make the conversion too expensive, so I'm willing to settle for between 32 to 40km
Battery capacity is quite varied off-road.
What happens if your pack isn't big enough?

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner to electric

what major challenges can I expect? If there are setup issues between the controller and motor can this be adjusted? Is there a separate programming box from the controller? Plugging the hall wires in a different sequence to the phase wires can be an issue. Start with a really small fuse just to se...

Re: Converting Suzuki Quadrunner ATV to EV: DIY kit any good?

The charger is unlikely to be approved for use in Aus.
Replace the mains cable with a locally bought part.
Pot luck on the quality inside.

Iv'e had stuff where the 3-pin mains doesn't even have the earth wire grounded on the product.

Re: Non-Syncromesh Gearboxes

Anyone know if there is a way to set up a controller to act like a syncromesh in a gearbox? Tesla threw a few million at that problem 10 years ago and failed to get it to work reliably. WOW I'm screwed - I was going to do it in my spare time for under $10 :o I decided to take the clutch out of the ...

1269017600 (220V -1a) <--- My guess
1269038900 (240V -1a)
1269019700 (220V -1b)
1269039100 (240V -1b)

The screw terminals on the right that are shadowed in the pic determine the model?!?

Re: Damn Chargers!

So I'd go with a Meta/MEC "GMC-12M"
Its an AC contactor.

AC goes in and I'm guessing it distributes power to charger and stops the car from starting.

Just one 48VDC line where all solar current are added.
The independent inverters or parallel inverters,
Independent inverters.
Different sizes.
Any model.
Keep a spare - If one fails just swap it out.

Does your house run separate circuits?

ThIs actually looks like a lot better package and 300Nm so probably wouldn't need a gearbox.

Ahhh what about the bus kits on the other thread.
Has the yoke output for direct drive.
140kW.
The torque seemed to be about the same as 2nd gear.

When I did my last calculations I needed the first 2kW of a PV system just to offset the monthly Electricity supply charge.
So to me its all in or all out.

Obviously for France the story is different due to more cloudy/sunless days.

Re: Offgrid solar project

Unfortunately no one has come up with a staged output parallel inverter set up, so the very light loads are spread across all the paralleled inverters making the delivery efficiency very poor at light loads. I do understand your point. When I say such things to a colleague he reminds me not to worr...

Re: Offgrid solar project

Many possibility for inverters, independant on 2 or 3 output lines or working in parallel on same line. How are working 3 inverters in parallel ? For 300W, each give 100W or one give 300 and 2 are on standby ? So I mean the 3 independent DC solar lines come back to ONE DC bus voltgate (48V). If the...
