ELMOFO Electric Radical SR8

Have you seen the Radical Electric Car built by some university students in England? Yes. Very good effort. More designed for distance than outright performance. TMG - Toyota Motorsport Germany (or in fact their partners) have built some rocketship electric Radicals that are well worth looking at. ...

MES ELECTRIC VAC PUMP

I got mine from Summit racing. They are priced at about US$370 from memory. I got a spare diaphragm kit as well just in case. Pretty sure it all landed here in under a week for about $500. This pump set-up made it easy to put a crude muffler (rag jammed in a small pvc box with some small holes drill...

MES ELECTRIC VAC PUMP

No doubt the internal vacuum switch was faulty from new. When I removed it I found that the unit never cuts-out.....even if the inlet port is totally blocked.

It certainly isn't quiet either. Not on a near silent EV.

MES ELECTRIC VAC PUMP

I originally used an MES 70/6E pump in one of our cars. Unlike Eric's experience, it was noisy and would not cut-out when down to correct vacuum. I presumed it must have had a leak in the lines or booster, but it didn't. I tried installing the pump in a PVC box filled with fomofill (exhaust hole ven...

It has been coming for a while. Even their blue collar workers knew it was coming and posted comments online months ago.

Kokam High Power Lithium Polymer Cells

As we are already getting a good quantity of cells shipped out, freight to Newcastle is covered for this order. I have seen information from Kokam and others that have tested their cells that would indicate that their quoted C-rates are quite conservative. Yes....we can supply Rinehart motor control...

Kokam High Power Lithium Polymer Cells

Hi All, We have a direct account with Kokam that enables us to purchase their high power LiPo cells at much better prices than previously found. These cells have a high energy density and high discharge rates. We are about to place an order for a reasonable quantity of cells for our projects. Higher...

Vectrix - Opinions Please?

Thanks for your feedback bladecar. I have done more research and understand that all the Vectrix units in Australia sat in containers on the docks for something like 18 months due an internal dispute with the company importing them at the time. This apparently damaged the NiMh battery packs and seve...

Vectrix - Opinions Please?

Interested in hearing people's opinions on the Vectrix electric scooters. I'm considering buying one and have read some varied things about them. I have heard of some issues with battery packs and maybe some noises coming from the epicyclical gearing? Who owns one? Are you happy with it? Are there b...

Haha, nice! They had some fun with the special effects on that video. Another question about those A123 modules: how are the cells connected internally? There's a ton of talk about the AMP20 cells and everyone seems to have their own way of connecting them. It'd be cool to see some photos of how th...

They come with their own BMS which didn't seem to work. I used Tritium's BMS. The BMS nodes were about 40% of the size of the A123 units and fit quite well under the factory cover plate. Photos below show Tritium BMS node in the end of a module.....and one of the Fisker date labels I mentioned in a ...

Yes....A123 7s3p modules. In my opinion they are one of the best packaged cell options currently available, but they can't be sourced new for love or money. As such, the only option to obtain these modules is to run the gauntlet with online traders. This proved to be a very painful process for mysel...

Uploading Tritium Firmware

Hey Ryan, I didn't read the above super-thoroughly, but it sounds like you need to do the following to get the firmware to start loading: 1. Power up CAN-Ethernet Bridge and get PC communicating with it 2. Run the TriFwLoad software and select Firmware File and Erase/Prog Then.....within about 5 sec...
