Solar Panel Petition
I signed the pettion even though we are having a grid connected system installed next week :-), one of my dreams happening, elec car is the next. We got in just before the cut in of the means test so we were lucky on that front. We're getting a 1.4Kw system with plans to go bigger in a few years. Th...

Bad news about the auto-lec's, Bidgeeman, they just dont want to learn the future, easier to work in the past. One idea I am toying with is asking the local Apprentice Training Group if they could do a conversion for me as training for the apprentices hope they can as I dont have the time or the kno...

Hi Bidge, could you tell me where you are getting the conversion kit from? This form of conversion may be easier for a newbie like myself.

Motor mounting
Taffy, are you mounting the motor across the car with a chain to the back axle, would this put a lot of sideways force on the motor bearings. Would it be better to mount the lengthways and use a small diff, would a quad bike diff handle the power? I think this would be a better set up than the chain...

I've been thinking about how to publisize EV's to the general public and the Governments so we probably need a famous media person (TV or radio or even paper)to use a EV for a few weeks and promote it via their show, so you do we get and what car? I think maybe Kochie or Mel or even Grant Denyer on ...

Sparky, would the f&p motors be any good for a lawn mower, I would like to make a cordlees elec mower as my old Rover one is getting a bit tied. If it would suit this purpose how do I go about wiring one up, I guess I just need an on/off switch and some sort of deadman switch so should be pretty sim...

60s Model Mini Minor
Have a look at this topic on ausmini forum, the guy seems to have his plans sorted and using a Suzuki gearbox which, having tried to but elec motor on a mini box, would be a much better idea.

I like the idea of a subi wagon as you could possible have a layer of batteries across the wagon area and still have room for lugage (walking frame!)etc but you may be better going for a Liberty and not a Jap import Legacy as parts are easier to get and Legacy's are mostly autos which I am lead to b...

Electric Mororcycle has officially begun!!!
What are the details of your build Matt, motor, batteries etc. I guess in a motobike you have to have fewer batteries so that limits your voltage and your range, what do you hope to get out of it speed and range wise?

Hi Tasymoke, back in the early 80's John's & Waygood (the lift company)made a few electic Mokes (the Moke Owners Association in Vic. have one) it used 2 big motors with a chain drive to each front wheel, It used 11 or 14 batteries that were in a box in the back they used contactors from a forklift t...

We have our application in for the rebate at the moment, we sent it away 5 weeks ago and apparently it take 6 weeks so we are crossing our fingers it will be approved, if we dont get it I will be shattered (our household income is just over $100 000, the average Aus wage is $52000, if both adults wo...
