What if the mounting was a 12mm? flat circular plate of 140mm? diameter that could then be machined to suit each application?

So no one has any idea of what specs they want in a Thompson Coupling?

My suggestion;

Able to transfer at least 500nm, have some sort of universal mounting, say a bolt pattern to suit the Porsche 934 axles (so aftermarket bits can easily be bought or machined to fit).

Any other suggestions?

“Off Peak” electricity

I don't think it will be a hassle in SA to use off peak to charge your car, give your electrician a call, they should be able to give you an answer (How would ETSA know what you are using the power for anyway?). I used to have my swimming pool pump on the off peak meter in Adelaide, never had a prob...

Reply from Thompson Couplings; Hello Michael, We are certain that our coupling outperforms standard Rzeppa type constant velocity joints in a vehicular application. Our couplings due to size and cost find their best use in industrial applications. If you had the "perfect" coupling for use in an elec...

I think this is the joint you are referring to Thompson Coupling I am looking at possibly using the 9" diff made by Strange Engineering in the US Page 1 and Page 2 , costs are on page 2, I wouldn't need the brakes though. This unit is designed for some serious torque, and provided they can make the ...

Are these batteries any good ?

Gemini, until you start your conversion, if you want to shut-up that chain noise you will probably find it is coming from the balance shaft chain. On the front of the engine is a small cover held on by 2 (10mm i think) bolts. remove it, then loosen the bolt inside slightly, put light pressure on the...

I've been doing some thinking...."ouch" What about a campaign based on a few Youtube videos, basically some members get together and make an "ad" for electric vehicles, maybe one video from each AEVA branch. Then try to get as much publicity as possible, maybe ACA or TT might pick up on it? At the e...

With yesterdays announcement of a $35 million grant to toyota to build a hybrid camry in Aust, it seems that maybe we should be ruffling a few feathers in Canberra and asking why Australians who build ZERO EMMISSIONS vehicles get NO GOVERNMENT support at all whilst a Japanese company with a profit o...

Lobbying Government

If you want to get politicians attention, you probably need to make "EV Rebates" an issue they "HAVE" to respond to. If there isn't any perceived "need" for a response or requirement to make EVs part of their agenda, they will simply ignore it. So the question then is "How do you make EV Rebates an ...
