Citroen C4 WRC hybrid concept

I know it's a hybrid, but the changes to the 2009 WRC allow for electric motors to be added. In Citroens case a 125kw motor powered by 990 lithium-Ion batteries for a 400v system. http://photo.netcarshow.com/Citroen-C4_WRC_HYmotion4_Concept_2008_photo_18.jpg Bigger version more info and images mjcrow

Government Rebates for EV's

Some really great ideas going here. A petition would be a good idea, but what exactly do we ask for? As Goombi stated, we really are only going to get one shot at this, if we do get any concessions whether it is a rebate or something else we won't be able to argue for any more assistance later. A co...

Government Rebates for EV's

Simple question, yes no answer! I would like to hear your views on what you would like (if you voted yes), what form you would like a rebate to take, for batteries, motor, etc. How much would be appropriate? Any other ways the Government, Federal, State, Local Council could help you and your EV. Oh ...

Goverment EV Rebates

Snakattak may have very good reason to be so pessimistic, but I for one can't see the harm in trying, even if all we achieve is an understanding of what we do. If we get more than that, great!

Bruce, you aren't wasting anyone's time, if others don't want to participate, that's up to them.

I don't think big auto is going to go down the road of allowing the electricity companies to make all the money from selling us our fuel (they missed that boat the first time around). Most likely is they will develop in conjunction with existing fuel companies removable and replaceable battery packs...

Goverment EV Rebates

Hi Bruce, A rebate scheme would be great, perhaps something similar to the solar rebate with a sliding scale dependent on the total kWh of batteries fitted to the vehicle (to a maximum rebate limit). And what about being issued with trade-able Carbon Credits as well, even on an annual basis on kms t...

Hi Don,

Still looking for a Porsche 944, one coming up for auction in Tasmania Link damaged on the passenger side, know a good body man? It could be a pretty good buy though if the stated milage is correct. Rest of the car looks nice in the other photos.

Just back

You might be interested, at the last SAEVA meeting, David Leigh showed off some of the motors he has built himself, one based on the CSIRO solar car design, a pair of which would probably do very nicely on a quad with IRS. Maybe if you can attend the next meeting you could ask him a bit more about t...

Why didn't you send the email?

Compliance for pre-ADR cars

Hi Woody, I like your choice of car to convert, I drove a 65 Mk1 Cortina for 8 years that I bought for $5 from one of my customers. It had the 1500 engine with just a few mods http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley2.gif (loudest car I ever owned thanks to a wild Crow Cam) Great little car, very li...

Where are all the SA EV heads?

Hi Don, It was a pretty packed house, seemed quite a few people there for the EV's, but not many of us from the previous "pub" meeting. The information about the Getz (Blade Electric Vehicles) was good, with lots of questions being asked. There is going to be another EV only meeting in a couple of w...

So 10000nm for Diff to Wheel, and 1000nm for motor to diff? What are your thoughts on some type of universal mounting?

What if the mounting was a 12mm? flat circular plate of 140mm? diameter that could then be machined to suit each application?

So no one has any idea of what specs they want in a Thompson Coupling?

My suggestion;

Able to transfer at least 500nm, have some sort of universal mounting, say a bolt pattern to suit the Porsche 934 axles (so aftermarket bits can easily be bought or machined to fit).

Any other suggestions?

“Off Peak” electricity

I don't think it will be a hassle in SA to use off peak to charge your car, give your electrician a call, they should be able to give you an answer (How would ETSA know what you are using the power for anyway?). I used to have my swimming pool pump on the off peak meter in Adelaide, never had a prob...
