EV Commodore planned - all electric

Ok, I found the pdf, and the link for it here To quote the article "this black box is the front end of the electric Commodore's 30kWh battery pack, which fills the transmission tunnel as far back as the rear seats". You can see the package fitted in the photo on the last page, and of course as you c...

EV Commodore planned - all electric

Hi Kim, They used a UQM Powerphase 145 Link with a (single speed) borgwarner e-geardrive mounted up the back where the diff would usually be, leaving plenty of room in the tunnel and up front for batteries. Pack would have been around 400v 30kWh. I have a pdf about it somewhere....will try to find i...

From the article - "The cheapest – and currently the only – EV on sale in Australia is Nissan’s Leaf". Obviously the author has never heard of an i-Miev Image

The individual responsible for the "claims" is Clive Mathew-Wilson, the author of the "Dog and Lemon Guide". He has written a paper Link which is what he is referring to for his claims. So I thought I'd better have a read of this "Paper". Actually calling it a "paper" is doing a huge injustice to th...

Grid Connect PV systems

I had a 1.44kW system installed in October 08 by the Solar Shop. It is made up of 24 Kaneka panels (25 year warranty) with the Sunnyboy sb-1700 inverter. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/uploads/191/Solar-Image.jpg As you can see it takes up quite a large area of the roof but if you consider all the things...

A123(alike) 20ah pouches

The cells from Paul (cell_man) seem to be legit, he has 15Ah and 20Ah cells, he has sent samples to quite a few people and everyone who has independently tested them seems pretty satisfied that they are the real deal. He has sent cells to CroDriver who also posts on this forum, so I'm fairly sure he...

Vehicle Auction Melb (fuel contamination)

If anyone is looking to convert a late model vehicle this might be a good auction to look at Auction Link . All the vehicles were damaged in the recent Victorian fuel contamination (Silicon Oil), so the damage is limited to; Engine, Fuel Injectors, Exhaust, Fuel Lines! Obviously we don't need any of...

That's a shame to hear about Andrew, hopefully he's moved on in a positive direction. His paper was what got me interested in electric cars in the first place, it's a very interesting read.

Sorry to hear about your situation Sparky, I did my apprenticeship (as a mechanic) here in Adelaide through the industry group training scheme (MTA), if the electrical trade in Vic has something like it you could give them a call. Chances are they may know a company looking for someone and if they d...

OK, I'm not trying to step on anyones toes here, but there is another alternative to TS or Lifebatt or PSI, they are called Headway, a lot of e-bikers are using them with good results, and they are priced pretty much between TS and Lifebatt, so a possible compromise. They do packs of various sizes, ...

Considering they had 2 of them and they BOTH broke down, I think they were very forgiving.
