All the drama over Leaf batteries in Arizona a few years back seems to suggest that temperature is a big factor. Tesla have certainly gone to a lot of trouble with thermal management. You got the monolith on the southern veranda Dave?

That makes sense actually Dave. For 2 in parallel load sharing equally I was planning on doubling the AC output active power of the one the Pi is on to get the total but maybe they share load data & total output active power is the sum?

I read a piece recently that inferred the Tesla supercharger format is more robust than chademo. I've only have limited experience with Sydney's one & only chademo but on the 8 times I've gone to use it in the last year its been out of action on 3 of 'em.

'Fire electricity', love it. The labels we use make me smile. When I was a youngster MRI was called NMR, but the N got quietly dropped dropped because 'nuclear' has bad vibes. When I can afford to charge the Leaf from solar I was going to say the car runs on sunlight but I may change it to 'nuclear ...

So if you're disconnecting the AC loads rather than battery so that the low battery might still get some solar charge why disconnect the solar with minitactor?

The issue with using inverter AC to keep the AC load connector on escapes me alas.

OK & a few more questions;
- the IMU trips the kilovac if any cell gets too low also?
- the IMU stays powered when you disconnect the pack?
- is it possible for the RPi to get a 10s advance warning of pack disconnect?

Dave is it one of your cell top modules that will throttle the absorb & float voltages? If I took your cmds in on an RPi serial port & echoed them to the 4048 (so we can maintain our serial connection) then echoed the 4048 response back at you would your wait for ACK timing be generous enough to all...

Good point, I never did the sum to realise 1C is pretty unlikely for this. Makes the performance of battery management systems in EVs, where 1C or 2C is likely, look good.

So for a cell cycled between 20% & 80% SOC only about 0.1v difference? Or just 1.6v for a 16 cell pack. That's less than the voltage drop typical of 1C discharge.
