Re: help with reader error codes?
Hi, my Imiev has failed to proceed, & does not appear to be the DC-DC charger caps issue (lid off: look fine) The car charges OK, & I have replaced the 12v battery. However, after a few metres it goes into HV fault (car with exclamation mark) & turtle mode. So, I need an OBD2 reader to look at the e...

Re: EV plate label kit
The reason for these labels is so Emergency services know to beware. They can then assess & handle the hazard.

Re: Towing range
Fyi, I got the same sort of economy towing a 7x4 fairly heavy empty box trailer back to Sydney.
I only just got between Grafton NRMA & Thrumster NRMA at Port M. Only charged to 80%: Will not make that mistake again! (I usually charge to 85% on fast chargers now)
regards, Doug

If the battery pack is replaced, does that mean as under Australian Consumer law, the Battery warranty resets?
(Would be nice to have a full 8 years on the new pack)

Kona failed to proceed....
Fun, fun... I took my Kona to Lismore showground on Saturday. The car was in a secure location, & the tailgate was left open so I could access tools, etc. When I wanted to go home, the 12v battery was flat! Anyway, relatively new car (18 months from manufacture), so thought no problem to get Hyundai...

Re: Need for a standard for EV Charging parking areas.
Bryce, I read the QLD document, but I could not find any mention of access for persons with a disability. This needs to be addressed! I still think ALL EV charging stations should be configured to allow access for persons with a disability, because even if a single station was designated, that bay m...

Re: Charging your non-Tesla EV from a Tesla charger
I have not read the full thread, but in Europe, Tesla is forced to have one station at their charging stations as a non-vehicle specific charger. With the dearth of chargers in Australia, I feel we should push for similar regulations.

Re: OpenEVSE Charging Station any Users?
Hi, I am in the process of building an OpenEVSE. In my case, I have used an Allbro OKO-OC case, a reasonably sized Fibreglass reinforced case with a clear lid. It has enough room to fit a 40a type B ELCB (Recommended for car chargiing because it looks for DC offsets). I am also using a 3 phase, 4 ci...

Sorted problem: I was not aware that the offending Leaf was set to charge Off-Peak. Set to Immediate & all OK!

Re: Need for a standard for EV Charging parking areas.
I have since had another thought: There has been NO (as in zero) thought about EV drivers with a disability. My suggestion: Make ALL Ev charge points Disability accessible. Then allow all EVs to park in the area to charge. The crunch comes for those poor ICE drivers that Illegally park in the charge...

Thanks all. I bought this one s/h for my friend with a Leaf. I will try running it up on the OpenEVSE emulator (which I have).

Kona (10A) standard EVSE not working on Leaf
Hi,
I bought a spare Kona EVSE, with the intention of lending it to my friend´s to use on their Leaf. Unfortunately, it seems to initially connect, but then drop out.
Anyone know why? The Charger is a Yuka, standard fitment to a Kona.
(Regards, Doug, a Kona owner)

Re: EV plate label kit
I bought my car from Crawfords in Brookvale, NSW, as dealer demo car. They (illegally now in NSW) sold me the car with no Blue triangle EV plate. Eventually, the local Service centre (where you register cars in NSW) arranged for some, & now keep them in stock. To my knowledge, the first set are supp...

Re: EV Charging Space Etiquette
Regarding Charge space etiquette, I wish people would leave a card on their dash with name & phone #. It would be nice knowing how long you may have to wait (particularly in the single car NRMA stations in outer/rural areas).

Re: Kona towing article: 22.5Kw/100 consumption.
fyi, just towed an empty box trailer to Sydney. Consumption 22.5Kw/100 (@ 100Kmh highway speed). Trip was ~700Kms. I charged to 90% at Grafton, & only just made the NRMA charger at Port Macq (Thrumster). Problem is at that consumption, with the trailer loaded, there are many areas that do not have f...

Need for a standard for EV Charging parking areas.
Hi, on my recent trip, I watched a Tesla (Mod x) charge at an NRMA charger, & also my own Kona charging at Olympic park, NSW. In the Tesla instance, the owner used the Chademo with an adaptor. I am not sure of his car socket, but it would not have been possible for the CCS2 cable to reach. In my ins...

Destination chargers for Motels, etc: Suggested install?
Hi, I just overnighted in a Motel & was discussing Destination chargers with the owner. This got me thinking... I think there is a need for a ´Minimal´ & a ´Recommended Minimum´ installation for Business premises including businesses such as Motels. Eventually we could even have a promotion on this ...

Re: EV Imports: the pitfalls
Thanks all for the import. I am not against Grey imports, but I do have an issue with the safety aspect. All we need is an injury or worse attached to the non-rectification of a manufacturer defect. This is fixable. (But not by the method Mitsubishi took with the pajero where they recalled all the c...

Thanks, but I need the audio over the car audio system. Problem is that not all programs can speak over the radio (but if the alternative media selected works fine, but of course no radio!)

Bluetooth Vehicle Audio interface Question
Hi, I use Osmand (Open Source Map program) because I can download the Australian maps every few weeks & never need to connect to the internet in my car. EV Imports: the pitfalls
Hi, I have just read an article in the ´New Daily´ (a web newspaper, Super-industry financed) regarding a push to import secondhand EVs. My concern is based on safety: We have had a huge recall of Takata airbags in Australia (& worldwide). The problem as I see it is there needs to be a system where ...

Update: currently stuck in Brisbane for another 2 weeks due to grandparently duties for our just born granddaughter. Luckily, I brought my computer! I picked up the 2 Oxbro cases: Plenty of room in the Fibreglass base. (they are molded from paste, so not hand laid). The top is high, & I might have b...
