It's a space saver, so emergency use only anyway, but if concerned you can buy adapter rings for a few dollars.

Re: Space saver spare for Atto3
Seems plausible. Stock wheels for the 370z have a bigger 66.1 mm centre bore vs 60.1 for the Atto, so will fit with a gap. Stock wheels include options with the same offset (ET 40) as the Atto3 Stock tyre sizes seem to be a little smaller diameter 225/50/18 is 682mm diameter vs 693mm for the Atto. S...

Re: Nearly there (fuel efficiency)
I don't think making 4WDs a bit more expensive would stop people buying them anyway. I'm just hoping for it will mean manufacturers like VW actually start selling EVs here.

Re: Nearly there (fuel efficiency)
The compromise is a bit disappointing, but it is nice that it looks like we will have an efficiency standard. It doesn't seem long since both major parties were against having one at all.

Re: Syngery EV Vehicle Add On (Tarrfic)
I thought the EV plan wouldn't be that useful for me, but ran a years actual usage through excel and discovered it was a few $100 a year cheaper. Main factors being car charging and heat pump hot water being outside the peak periods. I did have a PHEV which needed charging most nights in the period ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Novated Lease Extras
I just paid $500 for 3M ceramic tinting on an Atto3, but that was for 4 side windows, tailgate window and the entire roof. Should be less than half that for only 2 windows, I don't think you will get that back in tax savings.

Re: Is BYD ‘consumption’ linear ?.
Excrement in excrement out. If the data is valid then the question is why can’t BYD extrapolate usefully such that you can depend on it. Australia is a potentially dangerous place to ‘run out’ ,,,,,particularly in summer. Not everyone obsesses about remaining range and develops suspicion about vali...

Re: Is BYD ‘consumption’ linear ?.
I read that a better route planner now has support for live obd data, at least on the Atto3, could be very handy but I have not tried it.

Re: Is BYD ‘consumption’ linear ?.
The BYD seems to give a reasonable estimate of how far you can go at low speed around town, but that is not the situation where you need an accurate range estimate.

Re: Is BYD ‘consumption’ linear ?.
I thought dynamic was ‘instant’ demand. Dynamic is supposed to adjust based on your driving, but I don't know what it does, certainly far from instant demand. With the Atto3 you can drive at 110kph for 50% of the battery charge, and it still estimates you'll go much further on the second half of th...

Re: Atto 3 spare wheel
I've heard it referred to as FG space saver. Don't know much about Falcons. I think all Falcons with space savers are compatible. I have two ford rims that fit, both are 17s. I think one might be a Mondeo rather than a Falcon. The first one I got was a T155/70R17 which is 648mm diameter, I think thi...

Re: Atto 3 spare wheel
Do you want a full size one or a space saver? It is a fairly common wheel, check wheelsize.com or similar for comparable vehicles to grab a second hand one. I think cheapest option is the old ford falcon space savers. I've got 2, one was $20. Quite a few people have swapped the wheels, so you can fi...

Re: BYD ATTO 3 battery strip
For their sanity I hope not. They could be using it for anything. They have a quite entertaining progression of salvage stuff. They were using old solar panels for their front fence for a while. Not wired up to anything, just for a physical fence. Made space for the Atto by getting rid of an Intern...

Re: BYD ATTO 3 battery strip
A wrecked Atto 3 just turned up in one of my Neighbour's yards. I wonder if they are working on something similar. Same colour as mine so I know where to start if I ever need some spare body parts.

Re: Atto Tow bar installation
Thanks for the explanation.
We just did a 500km trip with the cigarette lighter socket solution, so that seems to be working well for now, but would be nice to tidy it up at some stage.
Interested to hear if anyone tries this.

(not sure of the orientation in the car but probably toward the front and down low) Based on my picture of it in the car https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=99341#p99341 I think you are right, it is at the front and low (hardest bit to get to of course). Your picture shows two red and white ...

Re: Tesla Tom buys a Seal
I think the Dacia Spring might qualify. There was some suggestion it might come here a while ago, I think they are making it in RHD for the UK. That said if you read the discussion forums about new car choices the majority of discussion seems to be about infotainment systems, so maybe noone would bu...

Re: Tesla Tom buys a Seal
I've got an Atto3 a bit over a year old, so should be able to tell you in the next year or so what happens after 2 years. So far noone in Australia has a 2 year old BYD. I think I can live without the connected if they make it too expensive. Not sure whether swapping the sim card for one of your own...

Re: Tesla Tom buys a Seal
Remote control via the app (unlocking or turning on air con) requires the car to have its own connection. It also uses it for things like Spotify and I suspect navigation. Comes with data included, but not clear how long for. I think they commit to providing it for several years (would have to look ...

Re: Atto Tow bar installation
Any chance you have had a look at the harness behind the right hand panel. I do not fancy removing half then interior to attach the 12v to the battery, and running it under the body seems a bit dodgy. I've run it internally to a 12V/cigarette lighter plug, sits under the passenger seat under the ca...
