Re: BlueLink
Hi dash: I am interested in Bluelink or what alternative APP you are referencing, based on the other comment, can this be installed and used in Australia? Is this a Hyundai owned APP or was it created by someone else? (you) I purchased a KONA a month ago, and have had very poor results with the Auto...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
yesterday, g4qber and I checked the CHADEMO side to make sure the engaging switch was not stuck, which looks ok. We tested both adapters for a third time with no change. contacted Patrick and was told the Midland charger would have a software upgrade when the shire would sign off on it, so hopefully...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
In the DELTA manual it says that 122001 is a CAN error There is CANBUS communications on the CHADEMO cable, but I guess the PLC communications on the CCS1 cable is also translated to CANBUS within the charger maybe, or the charger is trying to communicate out the CHADEMO side rather than the CCS1 si...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
COULOMB: The charger at city of swan in Midland WA is a Delta charger which has the problem with the CCS1->CCS2 adapters. PTS260 Was testing with a Tritium charger and I believe he is somewhere in the eastern sates (PTS260 can you confirm your location) Just as a side note, there is a new Tritium ch...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
PTS260: That is great to know that your adapter is working ok. That physically looks exactly like my adapter. Since I've tried two brands of adapter on the Midland DC Fast Charge station, and one of these previously worked with this charger, I am starting to believe that something has changed with t...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Coulomb: I can see on a Type 1 EVSE the duty cycle on the CP pin is used to communicate the current capability when AC Charging. I can see that on a Type 2 connection the resistor value on the PP is used to communicate the current capacity of the cable. The thing I have not figured out yet, is what ...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Coulomb: yes i understand now, i did briefly study thevinen equivalents around 40 years ago and i killed a bunch of brain cells since then. since this CS pin is on the charger side connection, it appears we are only trying to simulate a car to the charger type 1 side but In the schematics of a type ...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Coulomb: I think you are on the right track with the CS pin and the resistor connecting to a 5v supply, but i'm not sure you can say the 2.7k and the 330R are in parallel. in the original circuit that you posted earlier of a type 1, it looks to me like the 2.7k connects between CS and PE, (which is ...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Coulomb: I tried the SETEC adapter with the Kona at the Midland charger, and still no luck. I also have a Type 1 to Type 2 adaptor, and ohm'd it out, and also found that the CS pin on the Type 1 side was also not connected to anything, and this adaptor has been working ok with all the Type 2 charger...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
coulomb: I've ohm'd out my EVSE Adapters ccs1 to ccs2 adapter and the SECTEC adapter. My "EVSE Adapters" wiring exactly matches the schematic drawing you sent earlier in this thread, including the 1.5k and 2.7k resistors. The SETEC Adapter also matches this drawing, except the 2.7k resistor is not p...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
I've borrowed Jon's Setec CCS1 to CCS2 cable, and this morning we tried to use it on the midland DC fast Charger connecting to joseph's Tesla. This test also failed. This adaptor was tested a while back with a KONA and this DC Fast charger and it previously worked. Later today, i will try testing th...

Re: Perth Imiev for sale- anyone know the history?
yes, i think it is my old car, because the odo reading was 167010 when i took a photo three weeks ago, and it looks like this one for sale has odo reading of around 169000. I never had a problem with the onboard charger, and it has a brand new 12v battery in it. Having a weak or dead 12v battery is ...

Re: Perth Imiev for sale- anyone know the history?
It might be my old car, we traded in a white MY2010 IMIEV two weeks ago when we bought our KONA from OSBORNE PARK Hyundai. I was told that the Dealership would hand it over to pickels auction. If It is my old car, The Traction battery was replaced 5 years ago. My wife drove it to work every day = 62...

PTS260:
My CCS1->CCS2 Adapter looks exactly like yours.
Are you using it with a KONA or IONIQ?
Have you come across any charging stations giving a communications
error when trying to charge?
Are you located in WA?

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Hi Coulomb: Yes your drawing matches my adapter. If you measure from the Type 1 CS pin to the Type 2 PP pin, you are basically measuring the 2.7k and 1.5k in series (via PE) so you get a 4.2k value, and with my crappy ohm meter and tolerance, I measure 4.1k So it looks like my adapter is wired corre...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Hi Chuq: I have a solar powered house that is 100% off the grid, but occationally, during a whole week of rain I need to charge the car in the city. The closest DC fast charger to me is 1 hours drive and it is at the Shire of Swan building. It is still CCS1 and will probably stay CCS1 for quite a wh...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
Hi Coloumb: I have done a drawing of the CCS1 to CCS2 Adaptor after buzzing it out. I do see a 4.1K resistor between TYPE 1 CS and TYPE 2 PP, and I see a 2.7k resistor from the TYPE 1 CS to TYPE 1 PE. So everything in the adapter probably looks ok. Maybe I just happened onto the Midland Fast DC Char...

Re: CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
On the CCS2 side of my adaptor, the top two pins and the center pin are populated in the top section, and the DC Pins are populated in the bottom section, so that all looks exactly like a CCS2 Chargers connector. On the CCS1 side, the Type 1 section is populated with only the bottom three pins, whic...

CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for KONA
I purchased a CCS1 to CCS2 adaptor for my KONA from evseadaptors.com The only quick DC Charging station in my AREA is at the Midland Swan shire, and it sounds like it will be a long time before they change it from CCS1 to CCS2. I came across an adapter that is a once piece molded housing with CCS1 p...

Re: EV plate label kit
just bought a KONA last week, and found the bag of these tags in the glove box. Looks like the dealership did not bother to install them. From comment below, it looks like its not a legal requirement in WA. I don't want to bother purchasing a pop rivet gun just for this one job to fit these, so I'll...
