Presumably the business model is to connect people needing charging with people with charging, and clipping the ticket?

Just used this thread to troubleshoot and help another AEVA member with their Ioniq 38. They're now charging again and will organise to have the actuator replaced. AEVA to the rescue!

Sorry for the slow response here. I didn't spot being tagged by @jonescg. I bought the OBD2 adapter sold at Jaycar. It wasn't cheap, but it works!

Aldi 10A EVSE

If anyone else has noticed the 10A EVSEs being sold for $199 this week by Aldi, I can confirm that they have the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) tick, as they must, and they look well made. I bought one for a friend who is overseas at the moment.

Re: Thoughts on V2L - Electric BBQs and battery health.

Thanks all. My take out is it pays to have respect when using electricity and while an RCD will likely be ineffective it can't hurt. The Hyundai will certainly cut power if the load is exceeded but I am not clear what other protection is provided from reading the manual. Other usual safety ...

Except when participating in the Nissan battery replacement program, in which case, Nissan is the owner of the old pack.

How long did it take to get to the 3% of all registered vehicles?
A bit under five years.
T1 Terry wrote: Sat, 28 Dec 2024, 18:25 Is the change accelerating with so many EVs to choose from now and the price difference between ICE and EV narrowing?
No, the growth in sales is slowing just like everywhere.

If it's not powered and thus you can open it, just look for a set of DIP switches inside. I think it's switch #2 that puts the Tesla HPWC into promiscuous mode.

How universal is Carscanner for SOH?

I'm investigating using Carscanner to read battery SOH. Can anyone please confirm: (1) is SOH always read from the same location (the register number or whatever the right term is) and (2) are there any cars that are known to not report SOH?

Any resources that demystify this would also be ...

Re: Vehicle Safety Recall – Hyundai IONIQ 5 & IONIQ 6 ICCU upgrade

I just charged today on a 350 kW charger and got 73 kW initially. After a while it jumped up to 109 kW, presumably as the fast charging warmed the battery. However, I also have had the ICCU recall done and have not charged on 350 kW since then. It seems unlikely to me to be related.

In the low season, van parks could allow EV visitors to hire a cabin overnight and pay $20 extra to park on a powered site for access to a 15A powerhead. The 10A outlets are too slow.

Non-plugin hybrids will be overtaken by BEVs around the middle of this year based on the growth rates (BEVs doubling annually, hybrids doubling every three years).

A lot of the cabins also have verandas that have an electric barbecue that is plugged into an external 10 amp power point (usually on its own circuit breaker) that is within reach of your parking spot. These are quite often viewable from pictures of the cabins. The fuse box is usually inside the ...

How is the Outlander battery cooled? Or is like a LEAF and not actively cooled?
