Re: Kona charging station out of range warnings

The Kona's satnav system doesn't know about lots of new charging stations. Is there a way to disable the warnings when the car thinks it is not within range of its known set of charging stations? Thanks. It doesn't know about a lot of older ones either. It would be nice if they'd allow us to ...

Re: Has Anyone Swapped Out The Nexen Tyres on Kona?

I finally got to do a decent highway run on Friday with the new Primacy 4 tyres: Sydney to Mittagong NRMA Charging Station via M2, M7 and Hume Motorway (this is a very long, gradual climb. Mostly 100 and 110km/h zones to Mittagong exit): 186Wh/km. avg. speed 96km/h. Mittagong to Berrima via Mount Gi...

Re: Kona Software Update

Mine had these updates and trying two different fast charging locations yesterday the best I got was 51kw and not the 70kw I was getting before. These updates were done when the car was at the dealers after being bricked by the autolink bug I'm having a similar experience and so are a lot of folk o...

Re: Kona Software Update

Hyundai Oz came back to me with some technical info on the update - as it applies to my car. If you're reading this, please assume that your situation could be different (more or less changes than mine): ----------------- Customer Care (Hyundai Customer Care) Jun 11, 2020, 9:02:05 AM GMT+10 Dear Phi...

Re: Warning: Autolink update has stranded Kona/ioniq cars!

I note that a new version of the Autolink app was released in the last couple of days (for iOS). v1.2.3. So, a couple of questions...
1) Did anyone notice if was there a new Android one as well?
2) Did the folk who had problems have the recent software update (to the car, not the app) installed?

Please be aware that the Auto Link update on 3rd June has disabled 5-6 Konas and Ioniqs when used to remotely start the car. Reported on Hyundai EV Enthusiasts Australia (Ioniq & Kona) Facebook site. Cars needed flatbeds to tow them to dealers

Re: Kona Software Update

I found this link about the update.

https://www.speakev.com/threads/dc-char ... te.150933/

I'll have to test it out at the next fast charge.

Looks like the Winter Mode was removed because we didn't get a battery heater - something I didn't realise when buying the car.

Kona Software Update

I took my new Kona to the dealer yesterday to get help with manually resetting the trip meter (drive info). The instructions in the manual don't do anything. They couldn't help me with the trip meter. That query has gone to Hyundai Australia's technical department. Hopefully an answer in a week or t...

Re: 2020 Ioniq

Still, overall it's a very useful program. Side note: If you found routing being weird, try the same route at http://www.openstreetmap.org with the "Car (OSRM)" setting. It could be that some speed limit data is missing or an intersection has some turn setting incorrect. Interesting that GraphHoppe...

Re: 2020 Ioniq

A Better Route Planner is a bit clumsy; seems to want to back track unless I'm doing something wrong? Yes, ABRP does do strange things. The back tracking occurs when you override charge levels and it thinks that won't be enough to make the next waypoint, based on your required arrival charge. One I...

Re: Has Anyone Swapped Out The Nexen Tyres on Kona?

The Michelin Primacy look like a good option. Did you notice any of the CarAdvice experiences they had with the PS4? Admittedly a more sports focused Tyre. “ You also get a lot more torque steer than before. Whereas the car would spin its wheels under power with the old boots fitted, it now has the...

Re: Has Anyone Swapped Out The Nexen Tyres on Kona?

Thanks for the replies. Like you reecho, I'm under the impression that they went for the Primacy 4. I decided to try them because a rubber band with a vaseline coating would have been better in the wet. So far: 1) The grip is way better in both wet and dry 2) The road noise is noticeably reduced. I ...

Has Anyone Swapped Out The Nexen Tyres on Kona?

After a short but "interesting" drive this morning, I'm looking at swapping the Nexen tyres for something else with more grip.
Has anyone else done this? If so, what did you choose and how have they performed?

I'm a long term browser of this site, but this is my first post. Hello to all. Today we are picking up our new 2020 Kona Electric Highlander. Re: Delayed charging stopped working

Hi Richard, Is the Zappi controlling the start time or the car? If the car is controlling the timing, is your car's software up to date? A few folk have had trouble in recent times. A visit to the dealer for software updates helped them. Is the start time set at 11:00 or 23:00? Sorry if it seems rud...

Re: Kona Electric 2019 Tips, Tricks and the Manual

Using Hyundai's Adaptive Cruise Control

I've now "tested" this feature (and possibly scored a speeding ticket) and can say that it works, but it's not that good at keeping to the set speed when going downhill with no traffic around.
Any tips on making it hold the set speed?

Now I'm just waiting for Hyundai to build mine. May be late now that parts are a problem. Something about wiring looms. EV's don't really need wiring looms, do they??? ;)
