Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
I will have the Victron BMV connected to ICC, but also I noticed you can specify a Victron MPPT on ICC - so I was thinking I can use both and have ICC control them Am also wanting to add a Victron MPPT somewhere along the way. From what I understand from Manie (ICC Software) is that ICC can read th...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Thanks a lot for the feedback, Coulomb and Weber !
I will go with 9x 315W (JA Solar PERC 5BB, 60 cells) then
They have a Voc of 40.53V, which in our winters (around 5 degrees in the morning) should keep me just below the 130V and definitely below the 145V

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Hi all I have now decided that I will go PV and would like to ask for a bit of advice on sizing the PV system for my Axpert. I have received advice from a local installer (who has done a number of installations in my area and seems knowledgeable) but would like to sanity check it. My Axpert is the 5...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Thanks for your responses, Coulomb and Mantas Apologies for the delayed response, but I am in Ghana at the moment for work... wolfandy, what do you mean yours can't mix sources? I had the exact same model (it recently went faulty after nearly 5 years) and it quite happily switched between sources. I...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Thanks for all your feedback, Coulomb. I really appreciate it But just for clarification: Are my original following statements not incorrect? In the morning, any PV would supplement my consumption (battery still empty) Once PV exceeds my consumption, it would charge the battery Would this not mean m...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Thanks a lot for the prompt reply, Coulomb :D Ah but what model? See next question. It is listed as 145V if I am not mistaken. So I don't think that I have an MKS II. Here the sticker to confirm https://i.ibb.co/pQFP8RP/Axpert.jpg It depends if it's a 450 V max SCC model or not (i.e. it's an early A...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Hi all I am a new member from South Africa :) I have an older 5kVA / 4kW model (with ICC software) at home as backup for loadshedding but am currently contemplating of adding PV to my system. The primary reason is to reduce grid consumption during the day and to recharge my existing battery. I have ...
