If your battery was replaced, they should have placed a metallic sticker you can see when opening the driver door with the recall code, date performed and dealer number. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong but i think that the battery replacement recall is code 11D043.

Patrick

Hyundai Kona Highlander 2019 Ceramic blue - SOLD
My Kona is on the market. 79900km, excellent condition with a brand new drive battery thanks to the worldwide recall. I have expressions of interest between $50k and $52k but no firm commitment yet. The car has passed the RWC yesterday but is booked for a windscreen replacement on the 21st of March,...

Does the 'memory seat' associate with a key? Ie (driver 1 and driver 2 key will automatically adjust position?) No. Either the full car setting via the center screen (2 people and a guest can be fully customised), or via 2 bottons on the driver door. How loud is VESS? Can you hear it inside the car...

Re: What is current in amps of minimum station and portable charger settings
Well that i news to me? The closest charger to my house can charge a Tesla to 11kW, but a Kona to 5.6kW, and if a Tesla is plugged in at the same time as me (2 ports per charger), the charge goes down to 2.5KW. The charger usually decides what the maximum rate is, and the car has to adapt. Is it pos...

Re: Kona Fire - new packs required
...so it should be good for another 10 years after that. By which time a new pack will probably be a third of the current price... Maybe, but I don't think we will be needing new batteries after 10 years if we look after them well: I fully agree with you. After 70000km, probably about 3 or 4 years ...

Re: What is current in amps of minimum station and portable charger settings
I’m a bit confused by your question, but let me try. Any EV will take what it can from an AC or DC dedicated EV charging station. For example the Kona can take a maximum of 7.4kW (AC) or about 32A. But if the station can only deliver 13A, the car will only take that. A dedicated EV charging station ...

Re: The Kia Niro EV has arrived
Thanks Mike for changing the name.
As for the Freudian slip, having just spent 2 hours abusing my computer mouse to secure an Ioniq 5, yes buying an EV in Australia is still "murder".
I still think that the e-Niro is a great car, but no heated seats in an EV is downright stupid.

Re: IONIQ 5 - orders open October 12
I've managed to secure one. Well they did take my money so I guess I have. Still not the perfect car, but pretty close. No solar roof for Australia? If any country should get it I thought it would be Australia. No heat pump? Why? No 240Vac power point on the inside? So if anyone is after a very well...

Re: Replacement Tyre
I will second spod about the Primacy 4. On my Kona, from the Nexen to the Michelin Primacy 4, the change was amazing. Much better grip, especially in the wet, but a 5 to 10% increase in energy consumption. Well worth it in my opinion. I can now max regen down a steep wet road without ever slipping. ...

I've just been checked and confirmed by Hyundai this morning that I need a new battery! Hyundai said that it should only take a few weeks to get a new battry to Melbourne. Very neat!
Necessity is the mother of invention.
And if I can see correctly, you can even close it if the cable is not in use?
Impressive.

After 60’000km without ever rotating my tires, the front ones were finally worn enough to replace. The rear ones are free to a good home if you want a spare tire for long trips. Re: Mazda MX-30 electric
Well it looks like we all think mostly alike. One note on the 7.4kW vs 11kW charging, the Ionic being a lot more efficient than the EQC, the charge rate in km/h is actually only 40 vs 43 respectively. And as the Kona (and possibly the Ionic) is one of the closest car to it’s WLTP rating, I suspect t...

Free (ONO) Kona Nexen 215/55 R17 tires in Melbourne
I have just replaced my original Nexen tires for a full set of Michelin Primacy 4. Michelin has a $100 cash back promo on a few tires including the Primacy 4 until the end of July. And as a reference, I bought mine for $180 each before the cash back for a total of $620. As I had never rotated my tir...

I have a similar issue to sort out very soon as I am about to receive a free charger as part of the EV Grid trial. 2 EVs, both with charging ports at the front, but my next EV is likely to have it at the back. My dream would be to have 1 single charger swinging on a boom from the centre, as you see ...

We won’t see many of those on the road… Why would you buy it?
And the 39kW Kona is coming. 305km WLTP, faster DC charging and probably much cheaper.
Why would you buy the MX-30? At $55k maybe. Anything above and the Ionic, the MG, the 39kW Kona, hell even the Leaf is a better choice.
