Geoff at GT Tooling should be able to do that, depending on how you want it made.

He's on here as gttool

Terminal blocks: evil or OK?

Richo wrote: Nearly all car audio amps have screw terminals.

they are usually not in the engine bay though, and a failure doesn't involve the car stopping mid manoeuvre, or a high capacity battery pack shorting out :)

Terminal blocks: evil or OK?

crimp on pins help a lot. On anything with screw terminals like the EVnetics controller in the top pic I try to use ring terminals on the end of the wire (with heatshrink for strain relief) I don't like the Zilla hairball connectors, but it's easy for DIY people, which is why they do it. It's not th...

White vs Black affect on Car Temperature

I have also compared two Silvias, and other utes. I guess a lot of the difference I've experienced might be air temp vs surface temps inside the car. A white car with tinted windows and a sunshade on the windscreen will cool down to a comfortable temperature as soon as you start driving, and the ste...

White vs Black affect on Car Temperature

having had the same and similar model cars in black and white, as well as tint vs no tint, I can say it makes a huge difference. After leaving my white ute in the sun all day the cabin is hot, but not massively uncomfortable, and cools down after a bit of driving. My black Silvia needs to be left op...

depends on the individual motor. Most of the time a long narrow motor will have higher Kv than a short wide one, and will therefore make less torque but at more rpm, for the same voltage. You could easily have a narrow one that makes the same torque though, and have the same Kv rating, but it will g...

cool! Keep us posted :) Zigbee modules are pretty interesting. They have a self routing protocol so you can just keep adding modules to extend the range and they'll work themselves out. I've looked at using them on a few things, but WiFi is more common these days now that it's in phones, etc. I have...

I usually solder everything (even crimp terminals) but also provide decent strain relief using heatshrink tube. With that and the wires adequately restrained I haven't had a problem, but I have seen crimped terminals go bad over time.

also don't use those chocolate block terminal strips, they are useless in an automotive environment.

with AC and speed control you get regen fairly simply - whereas with torque control zero throttle is zero torque, ie just freewheeling.

Toyota Hybrid first edition what can be done

The ICE can't drive the wheels without the MGUs working, because it forms part of the gearing (torque split device) - but ICE torque does get transferred directly to the wheels in a way.

I've done a Ninja 250 (GPX250) conversion.

There's a thread here: viewtopic.php?t=669&keywords=

and an EV Album page here: http://www.evalbum.com/1492

It was only a very short range setup, using cheap lead acid batteries, but worked pretty well.

LiFePO4 batteries for an electric boat

you'll need a BMS ideally to monitor the cells and make sure you don't over charge or discharge them, but the end result should be much better performance. The ready made 12v batteries will probably simplify things a bit, especially in a marine environment where any exposed connections are likely to...

the main benefit seems to be more pressure stability at different temperatures. Varying moisture levels, etc in normal air can cause larger differences in tyre pressure in different conditions. For a road car it's not that important - but people use it in race cars for more predictable control over ...

I'm still toying with the idea of getting a nitrogen bottle for future use (since the Blade comes with nitrogen in its tyres). With a 3 month interval between nitrogen loss, I've yet to determine the cost of renting a bottle. these guys: http://www.atomicgas.com.au/ will sell you a bottle outright,...

hmm maybe they've discontinued the 24v one. Jaycar still has a 24v part number down the bottom of the listing for the 12v one, but Electus don't seem to have it.
