Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

Patched firmware is already available https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.ph ... 125#p76178 courtesy of @weber
I have 71.86 and 71.90 is in new ones purchased recently.
But as MppSolar don't provide 'release notes' you may be playing Russian roulette

Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

coulomb I bitched about it here: https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?p=76514#p76514 Originally my PIP was shipped with 71.50, the new control board came with 71.60 and the new version from MppSolar 'support' was 71.86 ;) I must admit to struggle understanding what this actually does - just all...

Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

Cheers coulomb I just checked the MK/King firmware version 71.86. In fact, it defaults to enabled, in the sense that if you revert to factory defaults (e.g. with the PF command), it would be enabled. Mine must have been set when I updated to v71.86 firmware. I don't remember ever setting this using ...

Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

I have thought of buying a Pi, but learning new sh1t doesn't appeal as much as it used too. Then again, I appear to have a lot of spare time now. I know the feeling :? Messing about trying to disable Windows update is possible (I've done it a few times) but it always seems to break something else a...

Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

I wouldn't call Watchpower a dead-end, nor say Win PCs aren't reliable. I'm probably somewhat older than you and have used PC's for one thing and another since 1986 - back in days of DOS. Modern hardware is definitely reliable enough, but since Win7 and the enforced 'nanny state' of Windows Update ...

Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

Sorry. Have a look in here https://powerforum.co.za/topic/2107-solarpower-114-some-new-features/ Completely different program - not Watchpower. Looks like it's for Hybrid/Grid tie inverters. What is your inverter? is it an MK? If so does it work? Watchpower/Solarpower is a dead end - if you want to...

Weird - just downloaded and installed trial version of Serial Port Monitor - nice program, but way too expensive! Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

jannie Get a copy of Realterm and install that on your computer with this terminal program I can send commands to the inverter and get the data back it has a send function that lets you send byte values so you can send the CRC with the QPIGS command. This will show that you can communicate with the...

I am a bit afraid to venture into ICC or similar ICC and SolPipLog (the one I use) connects via USB (or serial).... Re: PIP-5048MK inverter

It is working fine, but I am having a huge problem with WatchPower on my PC connecting to the inverter.
You have to login, last button top row, password 'administrator'
Then it will record data etc.
I's pretty useless though and very resource intensive.

:-D what rools do you use i node red? Glad Nuno helped :) - you've advanced much further than me, I haven't experimented with MQTT/Node Red.... Yes, I use SolPipLog too.
The graphing function in Emoncms will log all the PIP data.
From that you can export daily, monthly or yearly data to csv file to import to Excell or a dbase if you need.
