currently i have 100ah battery (16x100ah calb cells). with the next inverter its unlikely i will be going with the same brand. Wont be able to parallel them to increase capacity. and i need more capacity.

Re: adding a second inverter to the same solar array

Hi coulomb thanks four your feedback. sorry i wasn't clear in my earlier post, the 2 inverters will not be in parallel. The they will each have a separate battery and connect to separate AC output. My only question was if they can be powered from a single solar source. Thanks for clarifying that it ...

adding a second inverter to the same solar array

Currently i have solar array (2 strings of 10 each) connected to my PIP5048GK inverter. This setup has been running fine for a year now. I have 100ah battery to the above setup, and my total solar max output of the 20 panels is 4kw. On a good day my batteries are charge in couple of hrs and the sola...

Re: low voltage battery cutoff options

In that case then go to e-bay look for "Wireless Voltmeter Ammeter" and you will find a combined meter that does amps (versions up to 500A) , volts , capacity , temperature , uses a hall detector for amps It has high volts, low volts , over current cut off relay outputs. Note the one with temp sens...

Look for Albright contactor 48v on ebay they go up to 500 amp I have a few from old telco gear and Element14 https://au.element14.com/albright-engineers/sw60-360p/contactor-c-o-12vdc/dp/113793801?st=albright thanks paulvk , unfortunately i am looking for a Low voltage cutoff device, not just a rela...

Re: low voltage battery cutoff options

thanks dRdoS7 , i will try to find that controller. I did some more testing, i found that on Line mode the inverter drains 200W from the battery, this is the issue as its practically draining the battery from its lowest point. The good news is that on standby it only drains 2W from the battery. I wi...

Re: low voltage battery cutoff options

thanks dRdoS7 for your suggestions. I typed my original thread in a hurry, I was looking at the 12V 120a low voltage cutoff relay at that stage. in hindsight that might not be ideal as you mentioned in your reply. I have since been looking at 48v 100a+ LVD relays and they are none to be seen. I woul...

low voltage battery cutoff options

Hi, i have a PIP5048GK inverter running my 48v lifepo4 battery cells. I have set my standby voltage to 51V and back to battery discharge at 52V. I could set my standby (back to grid) voltage to 50V, however i am aware that this inverter keeps on draining the battery even on standy. this setup has wo...

Re: PIP-5048GE, PIP-5048GK and PIP-5048MG inverters (with unsafe SCC)

I have no experience with this, since I use patched firmware. No patched firmware is available for your model, unfortunately. What I've been suggesting (and have had no feedback about) is to use the timed absorb feature (setting 32, "Bulk charging time"). That swaps one bug (premature float) for an...

Re: PIP-5048GE, PIP-5048GK and PIP-5048MG inverters (with unsafe SCC)

Hi, first time posting, i have a PIP5048GK, i have been reading through the forums trying to grasp as much i can understand. Still not sure how to setup the inverter with the best config and would like your help. PIP5048GK inverter is recent model (04 2019) I have checked that its not a clone. I hav...
