Re: Ex train super caps maxwell
You don't just connect caps across your battery. Their size/weight efficiency is like 10% that of batteries in that mode. Using standard electronics your voltage can only drop say 15% before your vehicle wont run so your capacitor capacity de-rating factor would be more like 85% in that case. This i...

Re: Re-Plugging VX1 Charger OK?
I have a car CAN-USB adaptor that i've been thinking of modifying to a D9 [from memory] but the whole programming thing gives me the geebees. I would want someone else to be responsible for firmware, and for necessary changes only. Wow that moded bike from the link is another level. I was just going...

Re: Re-Plugging VX1 Charger OK?
You have great knowledge, ill be able to plug the charger with confidence, thank you. Good to know the set of 3 meters can be usefully maintained also. I believe i'm running 'Laird' firmware and the original standard batteries, which i get 35km out of. Sometimes when i don't charge her for a month s...

Re: suspect Vectrix Motor
Oh that's great to hear. Persistence pays off. Its comforting to know parts are available for the Vectrix. I reckon they're a great bike. Last time i looked the company was in turmoil but that seems to have settled. I had a buyer the other day tell me to get better pictures for my ad. It still [obvi...

Re: Re-Plugging VX1 Charger OK?
Thanks so much for your info. Well i did like that fuel gauge and i was thinking how to maintain the original metering and headlight on the revised frame as it wasn't too wide for a revised body width, but i guess we will both have to do without the fuel gauge then eh. A keen eye on the voltage will...

Re-Plugging VX1 Charger OK?
So I've seen that to reconnect the batteries on the VX1 you have to do it via a resistance to charge up all the caps and avoid destructive current spikes. My question is, can you simply plug the standard [big] VX1 charger in and out without fear of any damage? I want to remove it from the bike but s...

Re: suspect Vectrix Motor
Maybe too late but ...
you can put a constant current DC [or current limiting DC supply] over your motor phases and measure with a volt meter to then calculate low motor phase resistances with accuracy.
It does sound like a motor issue.
How did you go anyhow?!?

So the standard rear tyre is 140-60-13
i saw Pirelli Diablo Scooter 140-70-13 [+5.5%]
but a common size is 150-70-13 [+8.5%]
Michelin Power Pure SC methinks
ok if you are pushing less weight i guess

Re: AEVA NSW Branch Visiting Fonzarelli Workshop
Well i missed the workshop tour so today i went in and did one of my own and test rode the X1 both solo and with a pillion. The first thing that startled me was the seat height ! I was full on tip toes. They said there was a low seat option and i noticed that above the battery was a good 100mm to th...

Re: Vectrix VX1 with 9Kw Leaf Conversion $3500 - Newcastle NSW
Hi. Im in Sylvania Sydney interested in your VX-1. I am having trouble with the PM feature of this website due to a lack of ever having used it before it seems. How can we be in touch please?
