Re: Vectrix acceleration and throttle problem.

So there is something weird going on. The acceleration problem happened again and this time I noticed it made noise when trying to accelerate similar to when I tried to spin the motor with out the encoder plugged in. There was no acceleration or regen. And it didn't draw any amps either. I rolled to...

Re: Vectrix acceleration and throttle problem.

So I tried all those things. Held the combination until the spanner light went out. Throttle calibration was at 40 so I tweaked it up to 45. Also decided to have a look at the encoder on the motor to make sure nothing had come loose, it had played up couple of times after particularly rough sections...

Vectrix acceleration and throttle problem.

My Vectrix has a problem and I am not sure where I should start looking. Hoping someone can give me some pointers. So what is happening is sometimes it will fail to accelerate. I can get to maybe 50km/h. At the same time the low voltage light associated with the bms flashes or rather flickers in tim...

Re: Welp, ran out of charge for the first time

I was testing the range of mine. Ran out 1km from home. They are heavy things to push.
A kind motorcyclist stopped to see if he could give me some petrol....
Sounds like everyone gets caught at least once.

Re: Brendon_m Moke

Thats awesome. So did you take the bulkheads out of the side boxes? Including the bottom out of the original battery box?
I asking because if that bit is still good it could be useful for me. ;)

Re: Qld Moke

Quick update. Have stripped the moke down for rust repairs. In the mean time working out the details of the motor and batteries. The part that I am mulling over at the moment is the gearbox. Whether to to with trying to mate the motor up to the moke box and be able to use standard cv shafts or go wi...

Re: Electric bus inverter-motor units + gearbox for sale

In the picture of the complete unit I can see a computer on the back of the gearbox, separate from the motor controller. I presume this is the gearbox controller. There is a large bunch of wires leaving it that has been cut off....

Amita Tech batteries.

Hello, Just wondered if anyone has any experience with Amita Tech cells. http://amitatech.com/products_list.php?c=1 Their 44Ah cell seems to have good specs. I haven't delved any deeper than that. I was looking at the Vectrix site and I see they are using them in the packs they sell for the VX-1. Da...

Re: Building a new Chassis/Skateboard

That is really interesting. Wasn't aware that putting a new chassis under a car wouldn't render it an ICV. I would have thought that the resultant vehicle would then have to meet current crashworthiness standards. Anyway this isn't answering your question. Maybe the idea is that you show it meets st...

My suggestion would be to use the hoist to lower the car down onto the battery pack. That is similar to how tesla does it.

Re: Electric transaxle from lexus/toyota hybrid

Thanks coulomb, how did I not find that when I searched...
I see they came to the conclusion that only 30kW could be obtained from it, back in 2011.
I will see how much the transaxle can be obtained for and decide if it is worthwhile pursuing.

Electric transaxle from lexus/toyota hybrid

Hello All, So last night, while researching the motor for my moke, i came across the fact that some of the all wheel drive hybrid Lexus's have a stand alone electric motor transaxle in the back. I wasn't able to find much about them other than a few pictures and the specs of the car which says that ...

Qld Moke

Hello Everyone, So I was so taken by the idea of an electric mini moke that I have acquired one with the aim of converting it. This is the very beginning of the journey. First step will be repairing the body and refurbishing the running gear. Like all old mokes it is a bit of a rust bucket. I...
