Re: Weber and Coulomb's MX-5
Great project and really interesting read. Just wondering if you considered replacing all the potently leaking fets whilst you had the pack out. Would seem sensible given the work to get the pack out. For clutches it would be worth talking to Jim Berry Race Clutch. Has a great reputation for high pe...

Well the answer was prompt but useless. I will try again and see what we get. "Hello, before we can provide any assistance, it would be helpful if you could provide information here: http://www.mppsolar.com/v3/customer-support/ so we have some background information of the system. Regarding the issu...

I have raised a case with MPP Solar for both the charging problem and the parallel problem. Lets see what they have to say.

PIP-4048MS inverter
I'll try adjusting the voltage on mine tomorrow. Haven't had a chance to set the frequency correctly yet either. I tried charging with 2 units but the second unit won't charge at all. I tries and drops out immediately and then beeps. I just received my parallel kits so will install those and try aga...

Is someone able to test charging from the mains. In my case I have No PV or AC loads connected. The unit was turned on however. So mains charging battery with output (no load) In Bypass mode. Anything over a 30A charge rate triggers the problem. The unit doesn't appear to get warm from the outside e...

PIP-4048MS inverter
Will test it on mains power if it's happy to charge at more than 30a from that then I will move on to tweaking generator settings to get closer to 240v and 50hz. Did you actually try this? Do you have mains available? I don't so can't try it. Of minor note. When I first set it to the higher current...

PIP-4048MS inverter
Thanks Weber, I gave that setting a try today but I get the same behavior from the PIP. 30A works perfect but set it at anything more and it will fall back (typical around 38 - 43A. Voltage and frequency from the generator all look stable. No errors I can see each time it drops to 0 a...

PIP-4048MS inverter
With 3 4048's in single phase parallel, you have a pool of 12kw to run all your single phase appliances on and will not overload until your demand exceeds 12kw. If you are running a 3 phase appliance, then you have to have the 4048's setup for 3 phase. If you only have single phase appliances and h...

PIP-4048MS inverter
It's actually running in single phase now. Had some problems balancing the loads with the 3 phase plus they are using a single phase generator for backup. It runs an office block and a workshop Found the original comment. Any more details Solamahn? The other person looking at this was Kurt in Brisb...
