sticky for Nissan Leaf forum?

Hi Admins, could this link be a sticky for the Nissan Leaf forum please. To me it is an excellent summary of the Leaf product range and understanding the difference in trim levels etc. https://samholford.github.io/leafguide/ It probably needs a reminder that it is NZL based, but it looks like most o...

Re: 2011 nissan leaf

Prestige Motorsport is now importing used Leafs... Would those be right hand drive? I assume that there would be a lot of those available from Japan... exclusively from Japan I understand and yes RHS: https://prestigemotorsport.com.au/auctions/ unfolding story of an active import: http://ozleaf.pro...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info

Why are car manufacturers not making more EVs? Based on what others are saying, a few reasons I've bumped into: insufficient capacity in the supply chain for batteries slowing the stampede stranded assets For most (or all except Tesla) manufacturers (1) is the main constraint until the next 60 [1] ...

travelogue: 2018 smart fortwo in USA

I happened to be in Boston, MA and was walking out of a Costco and just outside their service centre was this brand new cutie.

Price USD$14,026 (look at the amazing rebates...)

Re: Renault EVs now available in Oz

The base model Zoe in the UK is a bit over UKP18,000 that translates to AUD$33,000, so it could be a lot cheaper than AUD$48K one day, once the market picks up for EVs and our reluctant governments introduce some incentives.

Is Renault charging the monthly battery rental in Oz?

Re: BMW Australia cancels future EVs to Oz

Nissan and Renault are planning to import new models this year. I looked for public announcements from either company and could not find anything about halting future sales?

BMW Australia cancels future EVs to Oz

Given how expensive BMW EVs are in Oz I doubt they are selling many: https://www.motoring.com.au/bmw-halts-new-evs-for-oz-111115 “Electric vehicle champion BMW has no plans to import any new EV models beyond the freshly-launched i3s until the federal government provides support for the take-up for t...

Renault to show their EV's at Melbourne EV expo

This came in via email, if you are on Renault's EV mailing list then you've likely seen it. The summary is that Renault Australia will be displaying (and allowing test-drives I think) the ZOE and Kangoo ZE at the event on the 18th Feb-2018 at Port Melbourne. I like to think that every event like thi...

Jaguar i-PACE SUV might arrive 3Q 2018

Dealer suggested that I-PACE might be released in Australia in 3rd quarter of 2018. A similar F-PACE is about $100K and the I-PACE is expected to be 15% to 20% more expensive (then add LCT etc), similar to an entry level Tesla Model X. https://www.jaguar.com.au/jaguar-range/i-pace-concept-car/index....

Thanks for all the updates reecho.

So far it seems we will only have a choice of 2 or 3 for 2018.

Re: BEVs in Australia

Thanks Bryce, I guess good news.
Renault have managed to complicate things, I guess I need to edit my original post to "BEVs in Australia for the non-commercial-user" :-)

Any thoughts on the question about lease-only for Renault commercial users?

BEVs in Australia

I wanted to record here an ad-hoc survey of manufacturers and their plans to introduce BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) into Australia. Like most people I expect there will be a future tipping point when Australian vehicle vendors finally decide to unleash a wave of BEVs onto our market. Here is a pa...
