Re: Cabin heating
My driveway is about 70m long. I'm in the country.
This morning when I got in the M3 to go to work it was about 5 degrees.
By the time I got down the driveway the car was toasty warm.
No gas guzzler I ever drove could do that...

OTA Update v10.2
Last week I got the latest software update OTA V10.2 on my M3.
Now it recognizes wheelie bins (quite hilarious!!) and side posts on the road as well as stop signs.
Unfortunately it does not yet recognize kangaroos

Re: Phantom braking
I've not yet had AEB activate with someone tailgating me. Not that I don't get tailgaters. It's entirely possible that this scenario is included in the algorithm. On top of that I have noticed with each OTA update the situation with phantom braking improves on my daily country drive. At any rate if ...

Re: Phantom braking
Elon Musk heads up Tesla but the company is also chock full of brilliant engineers. I was at the World Solar Challenge last year and Tesla had head hunters there to cherry pick all the bright young graduating students at the comp to work at Tesla. For people who may not be familiar with Tesla Model ...

Re: Phantom braking
Just in case someone reading this thread is inclined to think that a Tesla Model 3 is complete crap and to be avoided... Tesla Model 3 is the best car I have ever bought, or driven for that matter. 20,000km so far and counting. It has so many great features and such incredible tech I wouldn't know w...

IPA Report on Road User Charges
Have you read this report? https://infrastructure.org.au/ruc-for-evs/ This report smacks of a biased and short sighted stop gap measure that specifically targets EVs without considering the larger picture. Lots of sweet talk and then a brick-bat for EV owners. This report could easily be leveraged b...

Partially Converted BMW 2002 For Sale.
Hi, I am assisting a motor customer of ours to sell his privately converted, unfinished BMW 2002. He has moved overseas and is unable to complete the project. I have stored the vehicle on his behalf for the last year. All offers will be referred to the owner for consideration. The vehicle has been g...

K&W Tachometer Driver for Sale
I have a very lovely K&W Model TD100 Tacho Driver for sale.
For those that can remember it suits the old Advanced DC motors.
I imagine it would work on NEtgain also.
Brand New, unused, in the box with instructions.
Good price for the right person.
PM me if it is of interest.

Good question, I missed a stop. We stopped at Maclean River Caravan Park for a top up and went for a coffee and a walk. Maclean is a picturesque little town with a proud Scottish heritage. Worth the stop. On the longer legs we arrived most times with not less than 2 bars remaining. For the uninitiat...

Thanks Kurt, sorry to have missed meeting you.
Leela made it to the meeting, I had to fly home.
Right after I got back my computer crashed and I have only just got back on deck.
Here is the itinerary we followed.

This iMiev does not have a pilot signal coming from the J1772. We only found this out the first time we tried to charge at Newcastle. Michael had actually never used the J1772 plug except that he had a "hot" lead going to a 15A plug. Thanks for the pointers Greg, will follow this up. In the meantime...

I just overheard the family upstairs talking about the iMiev that they could see from their balcony. The young kids were asking why it was plugged in and the father said its a very special car that uses batteries and charges up from the electricity. One of the kids immediately said "It doesn't make ...

I did make quite a detailed itinerary spreadsheet for the trip the week before we left. I will post it when we are done with the trip. We have pretty much stuck to it apart from a desperate situation in Glendale on Wednesday where it took us 6 hours to find a charge with just our normal plug and 4 k...

My daughter Leela took my fatherly advice and bought a 2010 iMiev from Michael Symons in Sydney. Just 9000kms on the clock. She is from WA but moving to Brisbane to study this week. I had the bright idea that we might drive it from Sydney to Brisbane so that is what we are doing right now. It is rea...

Warp 11 motor and Soliton 1 controller for sale
I am assisting a friend to sell surplus parts from an EV build that did not eventuate. The parts are all unused but about 2 years old. Can I fix my TC/Elcon charger myself?
A customer of mine just alerted me to this thread. I sent four chargers back to TC Charger that I replaced under warranty for my customers. I was hoping they would come to the party but I now have to pay repairs on them and freight both ways, ouch. I had them in stock too long. I also have a couple ...

Well done you, Joseph.
You are one of the best advocates for EVs!
I would love to bring the Proton up for a spin but would have to put a lightweight battery pack in it to get anywhere near competitive handling. Better start saving my pennies.
