does anyone know how to handle USB on 4048?
Hi Peppe contact Edmundp or Manie on the South African Powerforum. Both of them have independently conquered the PIP USB.

PIP-4048MS inverter

Q11. I would like to control my loads, depending on other loads and input power. As I said, my hot water draws about 1200w. Let's say it's semi overcast and I'm getting 1500w input. Now let's say I want to turn on the kettle. I don't want them both on, it would draw 40A from the battery. So I want ...

Depending on what program 1 is set to program 12 and 13 and the low battery cut off influence the dry contact. Program 18 switches off the buzzer/alarm on the unit (gets rid of the annoying beep when you are pressing buttons on the unit and silences alarms).

Looks like the problem was always the use of 125A fets on hs1 instead of the 200A ones which are fitted on the latest versions.

Hi Solamahn

When did they make the change from 125A to 200A mosfets roughly?

PIP-4048MS inverter

Ah PlanB That makes sense. Yesterday I received a tip from a Saffa user. The SOC reading becomes accurate if you set the battery cut-off to the default (21V or 42V). The battery cut-off values are so low that they are in fact meaningless (even at the maximum (24V or 48V). So by setting program 29 to...

http://forums.aeva.asn.au/uploads/4021/Inverter_power.jpg 9:45am -Time for a cup of coffee. So I put the kettle on and it is a good time to see what the panels are doing. P = V x I (91.8V x 36A) = 3304.8 W. But I only have 3kW of panels and it is the middle of winter (OK today's temperature could b...

The U2 firmware is 1.24. Connected the panels today but overcast. 104 VDC but no current flowing - tomorrow we will see looks like it is clearing.

PIP-4048MS inverter

My secondary CPU says "00000.00". I had trouble with the inverter continually switching between AC and batteries whilst running in UPS but is running smoothly in appliance mode.

Will connect the PVs tomorrow and that might be why secondary CPU has not got a value.

PIP-4048MS inverter

I was only when I switched the PC off last night that I found that the fans were indeed running, but that they are quieter than the PC. Started this morning at 51V. I have 4x12A solar fuses. Plan to use the DC CB as an isolator if needed. I am really battling to get some components and cannot get an...

Hi I finally got the South African PIP to run this afternoon. I could not get the fans to come on but have not connected up the circuits with heavy appliances on them.My wife's hair-dryer (1200W) did not cause the fans to switch on. I am waiting for a DC CB before connecting the PVs. I initially had...

As a point of interest, do you get a 2-year warranty, quieter fans, and technical support from the suppliers? We do in Australia from Giant Power. We also get a red coloured front panel:

Comes with the noisy ADDA fans and just a gray/silver front panel with Mecer labelling.

What size and how many solar panels have you got connected and in what configuration. I should have specified that I have 12 250W panels(4 strings of 3) and my battery bank is 4 x 12V 260Ah. I live in a very sunny environment and have a communal generator that runs approximately from 5pm to 9:30pm ...

Hi I am a South African rancher and have read this thread through start to finish. There is an incredible amount of information here about the PIP4048. In South Africa the PIP is marketed as an Axpert 5kVA or Mecer 5kVA and they have the reputation of being reliable inexpensive (if one can describe ...
