Does anybody know if a 5048ms 64v main pcb will work in an older non 64v version.

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Deep Cycle AGM:- AGM batteries should be charged using a charger with a mode switch for AGM type batteries. It is recommended to use a charger, current limited to 20% or 0.2C of the batteries capacity at a charging voltage of between 14.6 – 14.8V following deep cycle use, or 13.6V – 13.8V for standb...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
These batteries are being undercharged, not overcharged. That is why they are not going into float. The absorb stage is not being completed. Increasing the battery charge current limit by itself won’t make any difference. From the battery charge graph, the current is not being clamped at 40A. The ba...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
The site I am talking about has 2 x 4048v inverters and is at 37 degrees south. Thankfully I am stuck in Australia at the moment. The switching from bulk to float seems to always occur at about 10A charging. Both inverters have maximum charging current set to 40A but rarely see 80A total charging. T...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
They are the settings I use with AGM’s. No venting because the charging switches to float at 14v before the battery is full, especially if the battery is not hot. Also I notice that my 3 x 72 cell panels PV in voltage never goes over 120v. Higher PV in voltage seems to make the SCC perform better. M...

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
I would make sure batteries are 2P4S and not 4S2P. Set battery type to USE, bulk to 58.4, float to 55 - 56 depending on battery temperature, maximum charge to 80A and panels to 3S. I assume the 2 panels arrays are facing different directions so the 3S configuration would require adding 2 more panels...

Re: Voltage change for Eltek Flatpack2 48/2000 HE R5.3 SW: 3.00/3.00
I have 2 4048V connected in single phase parallel. I was hoping to have one inverter dry contact control the HWS and the other inverter dry contact control the on and off of the Eltek. Problem is program 20 and 21 cannot be different on the inverters.

This is one way but a bit expensive. Costs more than the flat pack. I thought there should be some way to connect a laptop to the can bus

Voltage change for Eltek Flatpack2 48/2000 HE R5.3 SW: 3.00/3.00
Anyone know how to change voltage settings on an Eltek Flatpack2 48/2000 HE R5.3 SW: 3.00/3.00, using a laptop. I want to use the Eltek to charge the batteries rather than have ac in connected to the pip.

AGM batteries do not gas during discharge and can be charged at up to .3C rate. Charge rate will taper after meeting bulk charge voltage setting.

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
Hi Solamahn, System is 2P8S, thanks for your settings, I have been dropping the float when we leave, I think I’ll turn the fridge off also to reduce the amounts of cycles. The fridge would not normally be a problem with that size system. Your battery bank is small at 400Ah so you would have to be m...

Sorry Kurnol. I just re read your post. You have no grid backup. Set LVD to 46 if using factory firmware.

Re: PIP-4048MS and PIP-5048MS inverters
I use 58.4 for bulk and 56 for float in cold weather. 55 in warm weather and 54 when away. You should have your 2 batteries in parallel and then series 2P8S. Also check for battery cell voltage balance at full every now and then. Also set LVD at 48 and back to grid at 49. Back to battery 53

Re: Inverter for 48v off grid - PIP xxxxx or something else?
You could just connect panels direct to the hws heating element. Say 8 x 300w 36v panels in series.
