Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info
Spoke to dealer last week he advised that Kona release is postponed to later in year. So I assume Dec. a most likely date. Dealer said those on the "expressions of interest" list would receive email notification when more info was available. Anything further on this? I typically don't pla...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info
The basest of base Model 3 is likely to start at $60k in Australia thanks to the exchange rate, and the fact Tesla is releasing tricked-out performance versions well ahead of the cheaper options. The Kona is a Model 3 competitor in that it's an electric car with a long driving range, but that's abo...

Re: Hyundai Australia Kona EV info
Likely release is Feb 2019. Hoping for a more definite announcement from Hyundai at the EV Expo & Conference in Brisbane. (They are bringing one to the Expo I believe: looking forward to seeing it!!) Cheers Bryce Awesome, I should be able to attend that. Very keen to see the Kona too. But it's ...

Re: 2nd Hand LEAF
The new battery finally arrived from Japan and was replaced about a week ago. Hoorah! So we're back to new-car range of 130 km or more. The guessometer claimed 160 km when it left the workshop. They couldn't tell us whether the replacement has the same old LMO chemistry or the newer NMC chemistry. ...

Re: Help required with school assignment
I've got a bunch (36x) of CALB SE130Ah cells in Port Macquarie... Are you sure that they are 130 Ah? What size are they? Definitely SE130AH - can't measure them now, my garage has limited space so they're packed up at my Dad's where there's more room and tools. Here's a photo though of the 130 Ah c...

Re: Help required with school assignment
What an assignment! I've got a bunch (36x) of CALB SE130Ah cells in Port Macquarie, that came out of a conversion as they were end of life for pushing a full sized car around. After measuring internal resistance, the worst ones were set aside and the remaining set up in pairs ready to be strapped up...

Hi Kate at Svelto Bikes - my phone number is listed in the first post. Curiously, in the past I've received reply emails but I received none for this thread, or your private message. I will check my settings are right, or maybe it got lost in the spam emails that i frequently clear out. However at t...

Thanks, I'll get them to check with a local mechanic. I think it's all about getting the stamp for warranty purposes. Nice work weber, good little range refresh there.

Re: 2nd Hand LEAF
Correction: Our Leaf is booked in next week (Wed 20-Dec-2017) for Nissan to look at the capacity-loss issue. How did you go with the booking? My parents have a leaf bought "new". It has 14,000km, charged to 80% excepting long trips and has now 10 bars remaining. The letter Nissan supplied...

Siemens Versicharge 7.2 kW EVSE is available to go with the car too. VC30GRYU.
Car can charge from a 15A GPO or from the EVSE - but it's nice for compatibility with other EVs.

I got to see this in the workshop when the build was nearly done - snapped a few photos as I was really impressed with the build. It would be a hoot to drive I'm sure.

Not sure on what MMAU is claiming, but looking at the screenshot from EvBatMon... about 12kWh. Voltage is 80 series cells, 40Ah. 300V * 40Ah = 12kWh.Ultralights wrote: how big is the drive battery?

No 240V, anywhere. http://imgur.com/a/X24YW What to say about the car? Well, first off, it's very good. I'm impressed. It's very comfortable to drive and well featured. I thought yesterday it had less road noise than the MY14 (been a while though), but today it was pouring rain, ALL DAY. So can't re...

There is an EV button! Sweet! What about a 240V power outlet in the boot? Yes ScottyDont and I work together. Didn't get the keys until about 10 minutes to knock off, so took it for a very quick spin so it could sleep on a GPO. Didn't notice a power outlet in the boot, will look tomorrow, will have...

My employer has two '17 PHEV exceed's incoming as fleet vehicles. We've had one of the the '17 compliance cars (new look, no chademo) for two months or so.
First one is being delivered tomorrow, so I guess they are hitting the road now.

How does it go for public charging? does it communicate with the EVSE so as not draw more current than the installation can provide?
Sounds like a great achievement!

Thanks for the post Lex. Please post the progress and results. Will do, once the mounting method for all the modules is sorted, it shouldn't take too long. here's a photo of the new modules and the old cells. The CALBs had top levelling strips but no active BMS, by the time I'd noticed they were ou...

Still has all the bars, full range on the guessometer of 168km (That's ECO mode, aircon off). Thanks for the feedback. My concern is with the kW...

Concern: 'New 2012' in 2016
This might be useful info for you. My day to day is a conversion EV but my parents bought a "new" leaf a few (maybe 4?) months ago (2012, trucked up from VIC). I'm driving it for the time being while they're overseas.. because why not? I charged it to 100% for a longer drive on the weekend...
