Is the EV already obsolete?
Gow, Green, is about environmentalism, the benefits are for everyone, rich and poor alike. That's why it's 'green', not Red! The politics of envy and hatred, only reveal your own personality problems. You influence only your own opinion, preventing you from making any real contribution, outside of ...

Is the EV already obsolete?
However, in all of this one must remember that we don't really need personal motorised transport most of the time, especially when we can walk or ride a bike 5-7 km without raising a sweat (or a bill). Whoa! What about the wealthy? Can they walk or ride a bike? I thought that was why there are idio...

"Winter effect" or dying cell?
Headways are a better choice, they sag a LOT less and deliver a lot more. The downside is that 16Ah is the biggest you can get. This means a lot more connections for a larger pack.

"Winter effect" or dying cell?
A couple of years ago I ran the same setup 16X40Ah Thundersags. I also noticed a dramatic drop in performance during cold weather. Under normal conditions (above 25dec), I could pull heaps of amps from them 120+, however as soon as the temp dropped (winter time) the performance of these cells would ...

You know what, ANYONE that pays $300,000 dollars for a car is a tosser. Regardless of who or what they are or do. $300,000 are you effing joking, absolutely disgusting! As a farmer who battles daily to make a living, to listen to someone big note themselves over a $300,000 car makes me sick!

OK, the CA and the DC-DC have gone.
So, now I really want to get rid of these.
Mars Elec BLDC - $250
Sevcon Millipak 24/36 controller $200
$400 for the two.

Buying E-bike kit
I put together a GoldenMotor "Magic Pie" kit for a customer this week. Specs: Front hub (inbuilt controller runs 24,36 or 48V) 48V 12Ah rack mounted LiFePo4 battery. Twist throttle. At 48V it's rated at 750W. It pulls great up steep hills and has a top speed between 35 and 45 kmh (dependen...

I'd say "Damage already done" forums like these are easy places to demolish a business. I've seen it done loads of time usually by competing parties, It doesn't matter wether the claim is legit or not the mud sticks.

Thanks for the replies guys. I scored a replacement hall effect sensor, replaced it (after digging glue out for an hour or more with a tooth pick), all good.

Hall effect sensor help please.
G'Day all, I just want to confirm that I have a failed hall effect sensor before I try to remove it. It's a bicycle hub motor, with the power on and MM connected to the - (black wire) from the hall sensor group of wires. I then, in turn connect the + of my MM to each of the hall outputs. Whilst slow...

Ebike Power limits, proposed legislation
As far as I am aware you CANNOT register a bicycle as a motorcycle, there is no class for it. My Personal opinion is that a bicycle is already subject to the road laws, and powered or not, that is the way it should stay. Trying to impose power limits on vehicles is plain idiotic. It isn't done where...
