Re: Outlander PHEV BMU update/loss of range /kermit
If you contact Andreas Kirch from Qld who did the tube series on this, he will give you a definite answer. He's a nice guy, however he's now sold his PHEV and moved on to a Tesla. If you can't contact him, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch.

Re: 2014 Outlander PHEV highly degraded battery mistake
I have a 2014 outlander with a degraded battery and looking at replacing it, is anyone aware if it is possible to have the battery from a 2018 outlander or newer fit in directly ?? Looking at purchasing from a wrecker. Any information around this would be greatly appreciated. Have you heard of the ...

Re: Can't read cell voltages in i-MiEV
1. Can anyone tell me the WiFi connections to type into EVBatMon? IP address? Port number? The Wifi IP and port numbers for OBDlink are the defaults - 192.168.0.10 and port 35000. However, if you have had EvBatMon working with your iMiEV before, the reason for it (and Canion) not to work now will p...

Re: 2014 Outlander PHEV highly degraded battery mistake
The car presents well. I did notice it seems to lose power a little going uphill, but being new to hybrid technology, perhaps there was user error? Ive noticed the charge switch next to the gearstick, i had it on normal, but the salesman said i should have it on charge all the time. Good luck resol...

Nice work on the battery upgrade, and will be awesome for caravanning to be able to use an upgraded PHEV battery to run the van when the sun's not shining.

Re: 2014 Outlander PHEV highly degraded battery mistake
The Mitsubishi service manager is happy to say the drive battery is degraded and is causing these errors, but won’t put anything in writing I can use to show the used car dealer that they had misleading advertising. I can’t even get a report on the drive battery! Furthermore, the Mitsubishi service...

Re: Outlander PHEV cycles between ICE and battery
see no benefit for this and some downside. Downside is poorer fuel consumption due to energy loss in generation "Normal mode" means running down the battery and then using the ICE. Driving over different gradients involves different energy requirements, and the PHEV in parallel mode has a...

I’m about to pickup a U67V minicab Can anyone tell me where they have Been getting things like brake pads ? I doubt you'll ever need brakepads unless you live on the top of a big hill. Due to regen pads are hardly used and should last > 200,000km based on the minimal wear on our iMiEV after 100K. W...

Re: Any i-MiEV's for sale?
My imiev is for sale, though it may end up as a trade in. If anyone is interested in it, be quick as once it is traded, the dealers will want more for it. Price is not fixed yet. Ask any questions and make an offer. I will update when dealer sets trade in price. Why not put it on carsales? Covid ha...

Re: PHEV Loss of Km Range with Battery.
Just wondering if there has been any more success in 2021. I've actually heard the opposite, there is an Australian Facebook page where a guy is having no luck getting his battery replaced, so it looks like MMAL have changed their tune since I had mine done. the 'Battery current capacity' is 27.3Ah...

Re: PHEV Loss of Km Range with Battery.
But, the average life expectancy of most cars is close to 20 years and even then the fuel consumption and features should be close to new. If the Outlander PHEV only has a useful life of 5 years an a PHEV and then becomes just a HEV the extra weight of he battery now increases fuel consumption. It ...

Re: PHEV Loss of Km Range with Battery.
If anyone wants to comment I'd love to hear whether you think this is normal wear and if it is not whether there is any chance of getting Mistsubishi to replace the battery. Mitsubishi (usually referred to as MMAL) will try to convince you that you have normal degradation, however they "accide...

Re: 2019 mitsubishi outlander - concerns/risks
We had our 2014 Outlander for 5 years. The only trouble we had was flat tyres We also had a flat tyre in our PHEV, first flat in about 30 years of driving, so the stock PHEV tyres are quite susceptible (tradies screw in our case). At the time of the puncture we still had the Mitsu roadside assist w...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
Can someone give a clarity about battery warranty in Australia? The current owner told me that it was 5 years warranty for 2015 model and later on they started doing 8 years warranty. So if we buy it and the battery is crap is there anything we can do? Apart from the published warranty, there is a ...

Re: Aftermarket iMiEV battery upgrade project
The real bad news is that when I took the car for short drive, I noticed that regeneration is not working anymore. You've probably considered this, but anyway - I have found with our iMiEV, however much more noticeable with the PHEV, that when the battery was near new and is fully charged, it can't...

Re: Used Outlander PHEV - concerns/risks
Questions: To preserve the battery long term, can the Outlander be set to stop charging at 80 or 90%? No, however there are top and bottom SOC buffers built into the battery charging to supposedly make this unnecessary. Has the battery changed from 12 to 13.8kWh at the same time as the 2.0 to 2.4L ...
