Re: Forum styles
Don't know what the font is in "Flat Style" currently using it, but it is very clean and easy to read.

Re: Forum styles
To me, the bolded names are easier to read than unbolded. But I have pretty standard vision, as long as I'm wearing my glasses. The date in normal non bolded to my eyes is several times easier to read. The bold because it has more colour volume (due to size) next to another bolded colour i.e. the n...

Re: Forum styles
Since you put the offer out there is there a plain all white style, so I can easily make out the colours of the names. No promises, but what do you think of these styles with a white background (click for a demo): Milk Yeah Milk looks fine anything with a white background is instantly easiest to se...

Re: Forum styles
coulomb is there a style or way to remove the bolding from everybody's name? It's much harder to read for someone who is RGB color blind / needs glasses. Since you put the offer out there is there a plain all white style, so I can easily make out the colours of the names. Something like this would b...

Re: Any info on these chargers?
BTW I got mine directly from Nancy in China and might be cheaper than buying from a U.S. store.

Re: Any info on these chargers?
Yes with the nominal being 144v that's only 1440w at 10A. With 2400w being available from a 10A line, there is no reason for it to be below 2000w if it is what it says it is. I have the TC Charger here (yet to be used) but it looks rugged and well made. I don't think I would baulk at buying another ...

Re: Any info on these chargers?
Looking at the voltage and amps they seem to fall well short of 2000w.

Re: 3D printing replacement parts
Cheap printers are really pot luck, even paying $1000+ for one doesn't guarantee results, but it is generally going to outperform the cheap and nasties. Think mine was about $350 and seems to work fine, but I am in the process of doing upgrades which is probably another $150-$200.

Re: Range in wet weather
I noticed this phenomenon probably 30 years ago when driving from QLD to NSW and it rained the whole way. We were driving in a friends LC Torana with a small 161 ci motor, and the fuel consumption absolutely skyrocketed on the trip (circa 50% more), and the car was sluggish and appeared to lack powe...

Rather than leave half a build thread I have removed my posts. Apologies to anyone still following it, but most of the people that were following it / contributing have probably long since left the forum. Re: Club For The Elite?
We've covered this before. No-one I know feels that there is any such attitudes, I for one feel this way so you do someone. If there was no such attitude then why does the Members Chat Room still even exist? Why isn't the content moved to the relevant sections and the restrictions removed? I could ...

Club For The Elite?
Let me just put it out there, I am extremely disappointed with the attitude and thinking of some of the forum members... Once upon a time this website was solely about electric vehicles for enthusiasts and even those people with a starting interest in EVs. With everyone entitled to an equal voice an...

Questions on Elcon/TC chargers
Does anyone know if a firmware update can been done on this model? Without digging up receipts, guessing somewhere around 2010 - 2012 going off the address on the box. Yes, this is the model that can be firmware updated. But there isn't much point, unless you want a fixed voltage charger. It's alre...

Questions on Elcon/TC chargers
Been so long since I last looked at mine I need to take it out of the box to remember. Does anyone know if a firmware update can been done on this model? DIY Conversions nearly dead ?
At this point in time I wouldn't buy a commercial EV offering simply because it takes away from being self maintainable (I don't want to swap one dependance for another). I also decide to do a DIY so as not to be like everyone else, I wanted something that was not only unique but fast. Tesla now has...

Just bought my first EV
I am still in two minds if I am going to leave it in one piece until I need the parts, or to break it down now for better storage. At the moment it is easy to move out of the road.

For Sale/Wanted notices: Who should see them?
Not voting as I don't want anything to do with hidden content, but seriously why is this even a question? Is the demand for EV parts so high that you can afford to exclude a single person from seeing it? I mean the people who you probably want to sell your parts to probably doesn't even know about t...

What to replace i-MiEV with?
Yes it's a bit disheartening, I suppose we just need to be patient !! I'm guessing in about 3 to 5 years we won't need to own a car anymore. We just download the Tesla ride sharing app and tell it where we need to go. It will be much cheaper than owning a car !! Can't wait. Think again, nothing eve...

2015 Zero SR 12.5kW Electric Motorcycle
I don't think that is a particularly great buy. Manufactured Jan 2015 and sat around for two years with less than $3000 price reduction. The equivalent petrol bike would attract more than $3000 reduction off RRP for the same period. Plus a petrol bike is going to be less impacted by the 2 years sitt...

The price for a custom seat was ridiculous. Personally if I was going to give it to someone like my mum, I would just cut some foam / rubber from clarks and throw a cover over it for next to nothing.

Yep that's the plan. I almost feel bad about gutting it because it is in excellent condition apart from a few inside driving bumps.

Just bought my first Electric Vehicle... Ok so it may not go that fast and it may not go that far, but I finally have a drivable EV http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley4.gif I would like to say I bought it, but at the price I paid, it was more like stealing it. Big thanks go out to Ivan for his ...
