Home grown BMS ideas !
Hi there, Not been on this forum for a while, so a bit late to the party. I have owned an EVT4000 electric scooter for 2 years. It was converted to Lithium 9 months ago, using 16 * TSLFP40 and a home grown BMS. I did a full write up here; evt 400e lithium conversion thread There is a pdf of the circ...

Charging ThunderSkys
If you're talking BMS, I'm currently building one similar to this one; http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3345&sid=3ef768f1cd9379fa3c7c6912f49d60ff http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5416&sid=3ef768f1cd9379fa3c7c6912f49d60ff for my 16 x TSLFP40 for my EVT scoote...

Matt,
Can you explain how the 40AH lithium cells become 28.8AH usable energy?

ZEVA controller?

Of course. Not sure what I was thinking, but it's so obvious when somebody else points it out. Forget I spoke.

ZEVA controller?
If so have something better for you: Adjustable battery voltage sag limiting. So you can dial up a voltage, and the controller won't let the pack voltage go below this under any circumstances. The advantage is it gives you some warning - as the batteries approach flat, you will get less power out o...

ZEVA controller?
Is there an e-brake input? ie: hitting the brake pedal kills the throttle, ala electric assist pushbikes and electric scooters. Reason I ask. The low voltage cutoff on my BMS for my ThunderSky batteries going into my scooter operates the brake line. Would like to use this same BMS on any future car ...

Jaycar MB-3612 charger
You can get these chargers cheaper from Soanarplus https://www.soanarplus.com Same part number. Do not disconnect the mains earth. DO disconnect the output negative from the earth. From memory, on the sister unit (24 volt 6 amp) it's a single green/yellow wire from the pcb to the chassis. I've got a...

Power steering?
Hello all, noobie to this forum. Just perusing cars for sale looking for a candidate for future conversion. If a car had power steering, is it necessary to retain it. If so, how difficult is it. If it can be removed (technically and legally), what's involved?
