Re: My experiences with the Zoe

Geeeez, that economy is worse at speed than my little aerodynamic brick of an iMiev.
Shame about the charging issues.

Re: BLADE TOWING A CARAVAN?

Yes, I think about 200kg.
That Blade has a new battery pack approx 36kW - range around town 250km / range on highway towing camper 120-140km.

Re: Highway travelling at slower speeds

Having driven in SA, WA Vic and Tas I wouldn't be planning on doing less than 90km/hr on a freeway, expressway or major highway. You may get lucky for a stretch of roadworks at lower speed or behind a grey nomad but generally you need to be able to keep up to speed and take the range penalty into yo...

Re: i3 BEV Gen 1: hill climbing energy investment?

Try playing with Green Race....says 48km including a climb of approx 950m at 65km/hr would use approx 10kW going up for an i3 Even if that's conservative should be fine. Return trip only uses 5kw! An iMiev uses 5 - 6kW to climb 600m out of Adelaide at 85km/hr but that's a nice freeway road....not qu...

Re: Electric Vehicle Charging Hub in Adelaide

Thanks for posting the pics Chris The EV Hub looks fantastic in the middle of the city - a real attention getter. In the space of 45 mins yesterday 2 iMievs, a Leaf, an Outlander and 4 Tesla's came and charged. Also swamped with members of the public asking questions. Only got to take pics when the ...

Re: iMiEV - any good?

So it's a MY10 model. No warranty left. Yes, Mitsubishi can perform a battery capacity test - they do this every 2nd year on the capped price servicing and it adds $200 on those years. I'd want to make sure they were going to hand over a printout with some cell voltages for that money....not just a ...

Australia's first Electric Highway!

Hi Sally, nice to meet you at the RAC charger today. How long did you end up stopping at Carnaby's Park, assuming you did? Likewise mike. Stopped at a cafe called ‘the crooked carrot” for half hour top up on their outdoor 10amp. They were very nice. I got worried as the highway traffic was too fast...

The RAC Electric Highway will be up and running by then, so if you ever wanted to do an EV road trip to the wine regions, start saving your coins! I hope to get some prices this week from Ceva car carriers - they routinely move cars by rail. They are going to determine prices from Brisbane, Sydney,...

Awesome idea! I'd already had a look at the Indian Pacific myself but looking at well over $2000 (closer to $3000) for me and the iMiev return from Adelaide. Also would have to go over nearly a week early as the Thurs train from Adelaide doesn't arrive until Saturday arvo on the 3rd. So any "bulk bu...

Gear differences 2012 D, C, B

Hi Laura Having driven my imiev for nearly a year I have found little difference in range with the different modes. C is min regen.D is medium regen. B is max regenerative braking. I don,t use D at all-find it a bit boring like driving an auto. However I am rarely in peak hour traffic where it might...

I thought it ended brilliantly. Crashes get a lot more media coverage and this one was spectacular and well timed for greatest effect with the two leading drivers on the last lap. More people will tune in next race to see what happens between the two drivers next time. Noone was hurt and it was a g...
