Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

Ev’s enhanced do mention this fact and Shenzhen based Trader Robert Luo ( not sure about your supplier -Aug Energy aka Aoyouji - but I assume they do) also proudly use original Nissan BMS. See https://youtu.be/pGKg4PdmbW4?si=mID4xDLJzx7aEb0b. The problem is that salvage BMS modules (Nissan and EVs ...

Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

Thanks for that Andrew. I've decided to go with a Canberra service who will import the battery and fit and test. From a short phone discussion I think they are buying the batteries from the same Chinese supplier. There will be updates to come. Ok great, please share updates and best of luck with it...

Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

An update on this project. Positives: The increased range makes a huge difference to the car practically and these CATL cells are less prone to heating up during charge/discharge compared to the original nissan cells. Perth has had a heat wave this week and I've been keeping an eye on the battery te...

Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

The supplier now has 64kWh battery packs available again at $US10448. I see that the weight of a 64kWh pack is about 100kg more than that of a 40kWh pack. 2 questions Does the increased weight legally need an inspection or certificate to make it road worthy? I note that putting 4 adults in a car is...

Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

The CANbridge recognises 40 kWh initially and after a few cycles it apparently learns the additional 20 kWh or so. As you can imagine, with this much capacity it takes more than just a drive to the local shops to drain it. So, until the car has had a few charge cycles the range on the dashboard is u...

Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

Have you tried DC fast charging yet? what's the charging performance like? Not yet but I'll let you know! With this much capacity I don't see myself needing to fast charge regularly though. Currently their web site offers a 40kWh pack. https://www.augenergy.com/index.php?route=product/product&p...

Re: 63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

It cost about $12,000 USD including shipping and insurance. The exchange rate was slightly better back in April this year when I paid for it. Best to contact the supplier though, as they recently dropped the price slightly. AUG energy whatsapp: +86 132 3283 9319 I’ve had a good experience dealing wi...

63 kWh battery upgrade 2013 Leaf AZE0

Greetings fellow AEVA members and Nissan Leaf owners, I recently upgraded my degraded 24 kWh battery to a 63 kWh in my gen 1 leaf. I purchased a 2013 AZE0 in November 2022 with only 59,000km at the time with the intention of doing a battery upgrade. I purchased the complete battery pack, which inclu...

Forum integration with the main site

It's great to see so much enthusiasm towards the AEVA forums and an ongoing pressure to keep things updated! The success of the current forum software and hosting platform speaks for itself, as it has now been live and operational for the past 7 years or so, now with over 50,000 posts. For those who...

I have found the option to disable VigLinks on these forums. I hope this simple tick box removes them. Please post in here if the they appear in future.

It seems like this may be a bug with the most recent update of the forum software. Apparently it will be addressed in the next release (hopefully soon!)

Forum integration with the main site

Thanks for your words Karl . Keeping these forums up-to-date with the latest internet trends is definitely important and by me keeping the software version updated is a small step forward. However, yes there are many limitations (mainly that financial status is a manual intervention), but in 2007 wh...

Forum integration with the main site

It seems to me there are two separate issues here that have gotten somewhat tangled. Correct me if I'm wrong: 1. Andrew Brown is Tuarn Brown's (acmotor's) son. Tuarn Brown is a past president of AEVA but he is not president now. Andrew Brown is a past webmaster but he is not webmaster now. He has n...

Thanks for reporting this Woody. This should now be fixed. The forums software was updated a few days ago and a simple config file didn't get updated!

Hopefully all is well now.

Cannot list in For Sale section

Well let me put it this way, the suggestions people such as IVI make are very welcome, but as we already do have a forum team of sorts (all volunteer basis I should add) and this team could always do with some extra help if those people are happy to put in some time. The fact at the moment is these ...
